My understanding is you must pay within 2 weeks or you give up your seat.

Haven't seen anything about a Fb group yet, maybe it's still too early. They usually have a Slack group as well.

Hello everyone! I am very excited to be joining CBS and just wanted to add this info:

The admissions representative told me that they don't decide on merit-based fellowships until after the January 3rd deadline, with announcements normally coming in late February or the beginning of March. If you asked to be considered, your application will be reviewed once again then, along with the other admits' in consideration.

Also, did anyone receive anything in their mailbox? an official letter or something else? (came across this while reading last year admitted student threads)

Received a 'Welcome to Columbia' email from one of the adcoms. Additionally, after paying the deposit, the application portal reflected a letter of joining. Nothing else I believe.

Hi Admits, We are looking to do a short post-decision interview or talk on the application process in general, how it helped you grow as a person, any takeaways and advice for future applicants, and things you could have done better; something similar to this. Congrats to everyone accepted. I know this is a strange question, but I wanted to ask if anyone has received their welcome package yet and what was included. I received mine but was not home to accept the package, and some less than classy person had ripped open my package and also ripped my welcome letter.

If you guys could let me know what was supposed to be inside, that would be great because I don’t want to trouble adcom if it’s not something important or nice.

I received the package about a month after paying the initial deposit. It included a welcome letter from Hermes Society, a 'Morningside Heights' carry bag, The Seventh sense - a book by Professor William Duggan and an adapter.

Thanks for responding, really appreciate it. Now it makes even less sense as to why someone would steal it after opening the package. They are not things that are easily resellable or high value. Sigh

Does anyone know when CBS notifies of merit-based scholarships? I was recently accepted via phone but don't see anything on the portal. Does that mean I am not offered one or do they come later?

They told me merit based scholarship decisions come around late February/March.

Hey guys

Did anyone hear on need-based scholarships already?

I received last week and it was 20k/year! Amazing!

No merit scholarships, though. So my tuition will be 58k/year....still lots of money :)

I've seen conflicting reports on when to expect to hear about merit- and need-based aid. I was admitted end of January but haven't heard about either yet. Anyone have more info?

If you've already been admitted, maybe a good way to check on this is to just call the admissions office? Unless the adcom is responding on here, you're only going to get anecdotal responses.

First off, I got my acceptance call at 9:30 this morning ET, and I'm over the moon excited.

Silly-ish question. Did anyone get login information for the admitted student portal without putting in the deposit?
