Hi jaiasdasd,

Thank you for sharing your profile. Your profile looks good on the surface. Starting with the stats, your undergrad GPA is good, and you have a quite good GMAT score. As you come from an overrepresented pool, a strong GMAT is recommended. If you can raise your score by 10-20 points, you will have a better chance. Along with this, your entire profile is important. If you presented your application well and it is good enough, 720 GMAT may be sufficient. However, people are getting rejected with even 740 GMAT. What could be the reason? Possible reasons for rejection can be some obvious weaknesses in profile, not having enough time to finish apps, not connecting the dots and bringing employability in apps, not digging deep to obtain the true self, and absence of clear post-mba goals. So, that's why I stated your whole application counts.

On the work front, I can see you have good experience in a unicorn startup as a project manager. And startup experience has a big impact since you must have contributed to its growth and share a good story. In addition, two years of international experience is excellent. However, you did not reveal much here, you will need to demonstrate your global awareness and ability to work in a multicultural setting. Your post-MBA goals are aligned with your previous work experience. However, you will need to elaborate further by dividing your goals as short-term and long-term. All of the best business schools want students with realistic and attainable goals and a plan for reaching these goals through an MBA from their school. These post-MBA goals are prominent in many application questions and even interviews. Ponder over this. You may want to read an article on how to frame practical post-MBA goals essays, you will get some insights on how to communicate the convincing case to the adcoms. Your ECs are missing.

Overall you have a good profile and have a chance at T10 if everything goes right. I would like to know more about your profile to find out major USPs. If you’d like, we are happy to hop on a call with you sometime this week to discuss your profile in length and further chances to the b-school. Feel free to book a free session with us as per your convenience.

Cheers!

Hi All,

Ive recently reattempted the gmat (after five yrs from the 1st attempt), scored a 720 (q50/v38). Not very impressive for an over represented pool
