Just reading a few of the posts on here. Is it fair to assume within 3 weeks is when most people hear back for an interview call?

Don't know but I am considering it a rejection myself - since I didn't get an interview call so far. Despite applying on September 3. This makes all my R2 plans super hazy and I'm not sure how to proceed now! I was betting on Columbia - if this were to convert, I wouldn't apply to any other schools at all in R2. With a 750 GMAT and 3.6 GPA - I was really expecting a call but maybe there is something fundamental in way I have applied. I am actually questioning all other applications as well!

But I think you have a really good profile, and Sep 3 was not really far away from today. I guess there are still lots of chance for you :)

Anyone who has applied to CBS J-Term in September has received interview invites? If so, what was the turnaround time?

Yes I saw! I didn't get one. I believe it's a pretty clear message. Good luck to everyone who has applied or interviewing at CBS :)

In regards to the 15 day SLA — is it only for J-Term or August too? I’ve seen the 15 day SLA for the early applicants (before ~ late August) . After that the turnaround seems to be of 21 days for interviews - fair to say or no?

Yes for early applicants, the turnaround time was around 2 weeks, looks like it has gone up to 3 weeks now

SO I interviewed today, and it was pretty straightforward: 20 mins of background overview, why MBA / career goals, why Columbia,... and then 10 mins of me asking a handful of pretty straightforward questions... BUT I don’t know how well I sold my career goals, so I’m overthinking. My interviewer was from a completely different industry and asked about why I couldn’t do what I wanted to without the MBA. I’m already in my desired post-MBA industry but looking to do the MBA to excel/advance in specific roles, so I explained that the MBA would help me do that by citing specific CBS offerings... and then when asked about backup plan, I explained I could stay in my current role and learn and grow from there but I’m looking for the MBA to do the internships in-semester and during the summer to pivot a bit functionally... but because our industries and functions are so different, I don’t know how much I sold the "advancement" story... I felt like a "pivot" would have been easier to have explain because it’s just a "i literally need the MBA to get this job," but that’s only kind of the case for me...

they submitted feedback immediately after though, so that was nice

Is there any chance they might into technical aspects in the interview? Like a python code/sql query

The interviwerer I got alloted seems like tech geek and since I am from similar background bit apprehensive.

For an MBA interview? No. You may bond over some shared interests (i.e. technical projects especially if they’re on your resume), but they’re not going to ask any coding questions in an MBA interview... it’s not at all relevant. Maybe behavioral or experiential questions about working in a tech team, etc.

If your interviewer seems quite techy and you want to play up to that, recommend maybe asking them questions about their work if that’s interesting to you.
