For some context, I'm currently a second year student at Columbia and an introvert by nature.
MBA, whether at Columbia or elsewhere, is considered a social degree and there will be many many events happening everyday. It is really up to you to decide how many events or which type of events you want to go to. As an introvert you might prefer to attend events that have fewer people, giving you a chance to get to know people on a deeper level, or you might prefer to attend events where you already know people. Point being, you get to decide and that really helps!
Coming to Columbia, the atmosphere in the cluster and learning team is overall very positive, warm, and collaborative. However, there will always be some exceptions. Let's say you are unlucky and find yourself in such a situation, you can always explore and find your own people. Given that the class is 800+ (including both August and January entry) you will find people that you click with!
To shed some light on the collaborative culture, an example that comes to mind is recruiting. You will often compete with your classmates for the same roles, but time and again I have seen everyone helping each other, whether it's with making resumes, or preparing for casing (in Consulting or Tech), or preparing for interviews.
Hope this helps!

All the best to those that are chasing the Sep 28th deadline!
I have a different question - what is it like for an introvert/ sensitive person to go Columbia for their MBA? How is the atmosphere at school with clusters/ learning teams - is it competitive or collaborative/ warm? Thanks for any insights in advance.
