Too many. To give you a perspective I have 730 Gmat, 3.8/4 GPA and got waitlist post interview (which went well).

Probably they don’t give a very good weightage to GMAT/Test scores. What does your profile look like?

It doesn’t go this way that they don’t give weightage as i have seen on other groups people with good gmat rejected and people with less number got selected

UNCs waitlist to admit conversion ratio is one of the highest amongst top 20. So Keep your hopes up

I have seen people with top tier work ex (fortune 100) and Iit/nit rejected/waitlisted too. According to me guessing what they want is like playing whack a mole.

Source of this? From what I enquired, waitlist moves only for diversity/URM/Female candidates.
