answer for someone or something
Fig. to explain or justify the actions of someone or some act; to take responsibility or blame for someone or something. You will have to answer for your children's bad behavior. I will answer only for my own misdeeds.

answer for someone
1. Lit. to speak for another person. I can't answer for Chuck, but I do have my own opinion. I will answer for my friend in his absence.
2. Fig. to vouch for someone; to tell of the goodness of someone's character. Mr. Jones, who had known the girl all her life, answered for her. He knew she was innocent. I will answer for Ted. He could not hurt a flea.

answer to someone
1. Fig. to explain or justify one's actions to someone. (Usually with have to.) If John cannot behave properly, he'll have to answer to me. The car thief will have to answer to the judge.
2. Fig. [in the hierarchy of the workplace] to be under the supervision of someone; to report to someone. (See also report to (someone or something).) You will answer directly to Mr. Wright. I answer only to the boss.

A) We need 'answer for' instead of 'answer to' as China answers for an event.
B) Answer for is correct
C) 'its' has no logical antecedent.
D) for china to answer is preferred.
E) answer about is unidiomatic.

Here the angry public is waiting for the admin to give a convincing justification for the sudden death. The best way of doing so is to employ the appropriate idiom ‘answer for’ rather than ‘answer to’ or ‘answer about’

(A) is waiting for China to answer to the sudden death of a –unidiomatic
(B) is waiting for China to answer for the sudden death of a – the correct one
(C) is waiting for China to answer for its sudden death of a –‘its’ is ambiguous. Could be referring to either the public or the country.
(D) is waiting to China to answering the sudden death of – to answering the sudden death’ is way off the mark with altered intent.

(E) is waiting for China to answer about the sudden death of the – answer about is unidiomatic; also, the use of the definite article ‘the ‘ is wrong, signifying that there was perhaps only one inmate in the jail.

and what about the article usage here? would "the" be problematic?
