Hi anshul4,

Thank you for your post!

First, I would like to give some basic details about Indiana Kelley! So the average GMAT is around 652, and since you belong from an Analytics & Consulting background, I would like to highlight that the class profile at Kelley consists of the highest percentage of candidates from consulting backgrounds (about 21%). So both your GMAT score and academic background works in your favor!

Coming to your work experience and GPA, you have a decent GPA plus a significant amount of work experience; now it depends on how well you have connected all the dots and presented a great narrative.

Now coming to your ECAs, I must say you could have drafted them in a perfect way so that they could showcase your leadership ability, since you have been part of a state-level team sport and as an event organizer, you most certainly had to play a leadership role from time to time and could use this opportunity to mention such a situation. Strong communication skills are another major thing to highlight, with suitable examples. And, of course, Community service, for which you can elaborate on how and why you co-founded multiple clubs/chapters in college and elaborate on hosting a flagship marathon. The values mentioned above are the three principal values of INDIANA KELLEY!

All in all, I would say you have good ECAs, your post-MBAS goals seem relevant, you have a quality experience, and a score of 670 is definitely above average. Moreover, INDIANA KELLEY is one of the top b-schools in the US. Since you applied in round 2 two and belong to an overrepresented pool, you would face fierce competition, and a heck of a lot of your selection is directly proportional to your essays and interview. If you need any help you could always reach out to us for more in-depth professional help. Feel free to book a free session with us as per your convenience.

How to Ace Your Deferred MBA Application

Hi RBHIDE,

Thanks for your post!

First, I would say that you have a vast range of ECAs and some great ones too! Also, you have a good overall GPA and important certifications, giving your profile an overall boost!

Now, coming to your GMAT, I would say that you need to improve that a bit and be thorough with the subject at hand. Also, since you have a bit lower work experience than average candidates, you need to be brilliant on other fronts!
Also, as I said, you do have some interesting ECAs, and I would like to know more about them in detail. Like what skill-set you developed while working in different fields and how the Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification adds to your relevant skills required for the program.

Also, since you are applying to the MBA program in Supply Chain Management, you must understand the values and requirements of the program. Moreover, since the program looks for values like Leadership, Diverse Personality, Impact on the community, Clear Vision, your ECAs could be a great way to showcase all those qualities, making you a perfect applicant for the MBA program.

All in all, I would say work on improving your GMAT. Your post-MBA goals seem realistic; it would most certainly boost your chances of admission. Hence, apart from a robust profile and strong ECAs (that you have), other major factors include essays and interviews. You need to make your essays unique. Also, you need to draft your content into stories essays and present them gracefully in front of the adcom. In any case, if you feel like you need to discuss your profile or have any further doubts about your application, we are happy to hop on a call with you sometime this week. Feel free to book a free session with us as per your convenience.

Cheers!
