a, b, c, d, e
What is the value of median of the list of integers above if a < b < c < d < e

(1) The range of the list is 4
(2) Sum of the integers in the list is 0

#1
The range of the list is 4
we can have
-1,0,1,2,3
or 1,2,3,5
insufficient to determine mean
#2
Sum of the integers in the list is 0
again there can be many possiblities of getting mean
-6,0,1,2,3 or -2,-1,0,1,2
insufficient
from 1 &2
set is -2,-1,0,1,2
sufficient

What is the value of median of the list of integers above if a < b < c < d < e

(1) The range of the list is 4
(2) Sum of the integers in the list is 0

1) From this statement we can infer that a, b, c, d, e are 5 consecutive integers. The median will be the value of c. But we have no other information. Not sufficient.

2) Lets take, -3, -2, -1, 2, 4, where the median is -1. Again, for -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, the median is 0. Not sufficient.

Together, the only possible set of integers is -2, -1, 0, 1, 2. Sufficient.

C is the answer

a, b, c, d, e

a < b < c < d < e

(1) The range of the list is 4 -- e-a= 4 -- NS.
(2) Sum of the integers in the list is 0 -- NS.

1+2

range is 4 and sum is zero, only possible series :- \(-2, -1 , 0, 1, 2\)

median= 0

Sufficient.
