Rephrase the question: Given 2,4,6,8, what is the probability that their sum will be 8, if we picked the numbers without replacement? The only options are...

a) 6 + 2
b) 2 + 6

Therefore,

1/4 x 1/3 = 1/12 <--- P(picking 6 followed by 2)
1/4 x 1/3 = 1/12 <--- P(picking 2 followed by 6)

Since these are mutually exclusive events we can add:

1/12 + 1/12 = 2/12 = 1/6

Answer is B.
