A can not be the answer , sentence should start with Vaughan College to make proper comparison

OA :

straight B. 'Vaughn College' should be modified so B and E are left ... B is correct.

In addition to having a greater number of students than Lexington Community College, the students in Vaughn College are academically stronger than those in Lexington, with more national achievement award winners among their ranks.

E. Vaughn College has students stronger academically than ... lets replace it in original sentence

Vaughn College has students stronger academically than Lexington ... missing 'has' ...

E - wrong comparision

B is correct

Re: Academically Stronger [#permalink]
The second clause must begin with Vaughn College, which is the subject; so A, C, and D are out (note that D begins with Vaughn College's students, the college should be the subject, not the students, since we are comparing college to college).

E is wrong because it says that students are stronger than the college!

B since after the comma Vaughn college should be immediately referenced.

B. it is. Who got the greater number of student? Vaughn college. Thus, Vaugh college should be the subject for the second part. Leave B,E. In E, we cannot compare students with Lexington. So, B
