Hi Meriem01,

Regarding your overall GMAT score, what were your scores on your practice exams?

I scored 700 and 730 on practice exams.

Did you end up retaking?
I don’t think you really need to even with AWA3 as long as your overall score fits into the school average.

PS. The only reason to retake would be if you are below average, or if you’re applying for a quant heavy program, and they need to improve your quantitative score…. But I have seen people with Q 44 getting admitted for marketing/etc focus in top 10 MBA programs.

Hi Meriem01,

At many US Schools, a 3.0 on the AWA would probably be an issue, but if the Schools/Programs that you plan to apply to have told you directly that they don't care about your AWA, then I have to assume that they don't care - and that a retest is not necessary. You should certainly do your best to make sure that each aspect of your application is as strong as you can make it, so crafting well-written essays (and potentially preparing for an interview) would be a good idea regardless.

All the best with your apps. Consider checking out the specific sub-forums on gmatclub for the schools you are applying to.

No I didn’t retake the exam. I scheduled a one-to-one meeting with an admission with a recruitment manager for further guidance.

Got it. Based on your more recent response, I see you are done with your GMAT. Good luck with things moving forward.
