I was interviewed by Brandon Kirby. It was a very relaxed and pleasant experience. Questions included: - why MBA - why Erasmus - why now - what do you want to get out of the programme / how do you want to evolve - how would your colleagues / people you manage describe you - did you apply anywhere else? Why? Why would you pick Erasmus over the other school/s. I had around 20min to ask questions. I would summarise the interview as a nice friendly conversation. If you know your strengths, weaknesses, and why you want to do an MBA at Erasmus, you should not be worried or stressed at all. Just make sure you have some examples of situations when you talk about your ambitions, where you want to improve, how others see you, challenges you have overcome etc Good luck :)

Interviewed with Sharlene Bell. It lasted about 45 minutes. It felt like a job interview but the interviewer was cordial all throughout. Though she will ask you to clarify if the answers were vague or doesn't respond to the prompt. Some questions: - Why MBA? - Post-MBA goals. Plan A, B after MBA - Dealing with conflict - Weaknesses and strengths - Greatest failure

I was interviewed by Carrie Fok. Very easygoing and conversational interview. She specifically mentioned that it was meant to be informal and that she'd prefer answers through storytelling. The questions were: - Why MBA? - Why now? - Give me an example of dealing with conflict in a group - A question on how I managed an underperforing employee on my team - Career goals after your MBA She patiently answered all of my questions, taking 15-20 mins to do so.

This forum was super helpful, so here's me giving back. My profile: 32 y/o male from Mexico, married. I have a Bechelor's in International Business with GPA around 3.2 and 7 years of work experience (by the time the program starts). Most of my work experience is working in the intersection of eCommerce, Digital Marketing and Entrepreneurship, and the highlights of my career have been working with some of Latin America's top startups, and as an eCommerce/Marketing consultant for over 50 small businesses. I took my second attempt at the GMAT like 3 days before I submitted my application and got 660 (Q45,V35) The overall application process was really smooth, I've been looking into Rotman for a few years and I was already familiar with the interviewer. I had also had a conversation with enrolled students to figure out more about the program and life in Toronto. I had an invite to the interview around 3 work days after I submitted my application, and I got my acceptance offer almost 2 weeks after that. Roughly the whole process took around 3 weeks and a half, considering that I had my interview one week after I got the invite. The interview was very friendly, more to know about myself and my CV and it went in a big part as a conversation. These are the questions that I currently remember: Walk me through your resume in 2-3 minutes What can you contribute to Rotman and your fellow students What are your short-mid term goals and how do you think Rotman can help you? What do you like to do to keep updated in new trends and improving in your line of work What student clubs would you be interested in joining If Rotman were to promise you 3 things, what would you like them to be? Anything that you would like to add? Do you have any other questions for me? Basically what they want to know is: What can you contribute to Rotman and your fellow students Whether you will be employable after you get the program What makes you unique? Hope this is as helpful as all the information was for me.

Hi all, I interviewed for Darden Early Action with a 2nd year MBA student on 9-1-2020. Overall it was an amazing experience, I was a bit nervous going in but the second I started my walkthrough my nerves subsided. My experience was much like others I've read here, but I felt like I would share anyway. The interview process was as follows: 1) Light introduction from my interviewer, explaining his role within the admissions process. 2) Asked me to walk through my life story (not just resume)... This probably took me around 8 minutes. TIP: When walking through something this long, make sure you take some pauses, allowing your interviewer to ask questions. If he/she doesn't ask, it would be beneficial to ask them around the halfway point if they've followed you so far and if you should clarify anything. 3)Several follow up questions about specific points of my story, my interviewer seemed very interested which was nice. 4)At what point in your career did you decide on an MBA, why? 5)Leadership questions - How do I lead, most important traits in a leader, etc. 6)Who am I outside of the workplace/classroom? Hobbies etc. 7)Why Darden? I was then able to ask questions, which I had a couple. My interviewer was extremely engaged and seemed very interested in my career progression. The interview lasted about an hour, excited to see my response. TIP: Darden's interview is a blind interview. The interview doesn't even have your resume, so you really need to paint a clear picture. HOWEVER, this year (I'm not sure about other years), my interview did have access to my "Learning team" short answer question which actually spawned a really good conversation, so make sure your answer is unique and describes you! I think it went well, but we'll find out in October!

My interview was scheduled with one of the AdCom members at IE over a zoom call. My interview lasted for about 40-45 minutes and it was no less than a roller coaster ride. The interview was in two parts. The First part involved common questions which all the MBA aspirants would prepare for - questions such as Introduce yourself? Why MBA? Why IE?. The second part was the tricky part it involved out of syllabus questions from diverse topics such as Economics, Finance, Current Affairs, Verbal Maths etc. I will try to list down questions to help you prepare better. First part: 1) Introduce Yourself 2) Why IE? 3) What are your post MBA goals? 4) How will you be financing your MBA? Second part: 1) 99/2 2) Square of 33 3) 15 X 15 - 3 4) Questions about inflation, hyperinflation, deflation 5) Recent news which I have read 6) What should be priorities of global politicians 7) Recession in 2008 8) Explain Balance sheet to 10 yr old 9) Greatest innovation according to me 10) Few more questions from random topics which I am not remembering now. 11) Any questions if I have for IE I would suggest all the future interviewees to prepare well for your interview. Do take IE interviews seriously. Second part of the interview can significantly turn around your interview on either side. Probably adcom knows all the aspirants prepare well for the common MBA questions and behavioral questions, hence they have this pop-up quiz sort of thing. During my interview, I fumbled a bit; for some of the questions I admitted I am not aware of the topic in detail but this is what I know. I would recommend you to be honest through the time; there's a reason they are on the other side of the table. After the interview, one tend to have unending thoughts about the interview - I should have said this and that, why did I say like that, how stupid I was to respond this way. Try to be calm and relax. Even if things haven't gone the way you wanted it to be, there's still a chance of getting a result the way you exactly you want it to be. Cheers!

Got a call and an email with an offer on the 13th of August. The best advice i can give is keep it genuine and practice how you tell your story.Your story is personal and nobody can tell it better. The interview was very conversational and supportive like everyone else has said, they are really there to help you express yourself and your underlying motives for wanting to do an MBA. To prepare, I made sure to have an answer for all of the questions from the interview debriefs as well as a clear, logical explanation of my background, why MBA, and future aspirations. Ivey is one of the only schools that has a member of the career management team do the admission interview, so be sure to tailor your questions at the end!

The interviewer is not working in the same industry. She is now in strategic development for retail. She is an Indian who has spent most of her life in Hong Kong but studied in an international school. Then she got her undergrad in the U.S. I believe she was selected to interview me because INSEAD wanted to evaluate my cultural fit and international perspectives, but not so much the reasonableness of my goals. The only similarity we have is that we both studied in Hong Kong and then went to the U.S. for undergrad. The conversation went well. I gave her a very comprehensive walkthrough of my background with solid reasoning on each choice I made in my professional development. She appeared to be happy with my answers. Other questions (all pretty standard) include: 1) Did you experience any culture shock when you studied in the U.S.? 2) Why do you think an MBA will help you achieve your goal? 3) Why INSEAD? 4) Biggest failure? 5) Tell me more about your experience as a mentor in the internship programs of the investment banks 6) Tell me more about your involvement in volunteering work 7) Tell me what you love and hate about Investment Banking / Finance 8) Did you apply to any other schools? When we got into Q&A, the conversation became more natural. We spoke about the clubs @ INSEAD and her career transition since INSEAD. Then we found our common interest: singing! I enjoyed the good vibes we shared in this call. I hope the next one will also go well.

The interview started with casual talk, Vasilis has been interviewing students for a very long time and he knows how to get students engaged. The interview lasted for 1 hour 10 minutes. Here are the questions: 1. Tell me more about you and walk me through your resume. 2. Why so many jumps in the work experience?  3. Why MBA now? Give four reasons. 4. Post-MBA goals. 5. Target companies. 6. According to your teammates, what is your weakness? 7. During the MBA program at RSM, if you come across a conflict with your peers, who hail from diverse backgrounds, what will be your approach to resolve the conflict? 8. How will your friends describe you in three words? 9. What is the one time you failed, in your professional experience, and what did you learn from it? 10. If given an opportunity to work on a project, would you be the one who leads or the one who follows? 11. If you get selected in both IE and RSM, what will be your criteria to pick one? (I had mentioned IE in the application) 12. Upon the completion of the MBA program at RSM, what is that one quality you'd expect to develop, which you'd wish to gain? 13. Do you have international work experience? Have you been outside India? 14. Imagine that you have been selected and you're in the flight which takes off to Amsterdam, there's an anxiety of moving to a different country and a lot of emotional challenges. How will you deal with this? 15. A few questions pertaining to my essay. And the interview ended with 2 questions that I asked.   His questions were super specific, read tricky, for example, he didn't ask which school I would choose if I get to pick between RSM and IE, he asked what would be my criteria to select one. That was very clever.  I didn't expect a question about emotional challenges as well. The interview was very interesting. For IE I was interviewed by an alumnus so it seemed like a cakewalk, but this one was quite precarious because Vasilis is not only an RSM alum but also the admissions and marketing director at RSM. He knows which questions can make the students falter. My advice to ace an RSM interview is: 1. Thoroughly check your essays, go through your work experience and rest of the application. They dig into it. 2. Check the website. It is pure gold. Witnessing that you know more than the surface seems impressive. 3. Be ready to come across unanticipated questions. Because if you do not, it might crumble your confidence.  Hope this helps. :)

Vietnamese national, live in France since 2009, 5 years of work experience in Hospitality and Tourisme 1st interview : French alum graduated >10 years, worked in Consulting after graduation then entrepreneur in Wine business. After my contact email, he quickly replied in a very (too) casual tone, which was quite unexpected. The interview was on Zoom and went pretty well. We discussed in French though. We first talked a lot about Covid crisis and how it had been impacting our respective activities/industries. Despite the casual and friendly tone, he woven all the questions about my current job in the discussion. In the "second" part of the interview, he told me about his journey before and after INSEAD, giving me some tips about financing and student life. And I've asked a lot of question about his experience. Only after that we talked about me, mostly around "Why MBA" question. Although the interview went well, I sensed that he wasn't convinced about my "Why MBA" answers and arguments. I wrote him an email later that day with some more factual details on the arguments I had put forward but he replied only the following day saying that he acknowledged my email too late, and the "interview report" was sent to the school. He did tell me in the email that he really appreciated our discussion. 2nd interview: French alumna graduated about 10 years ago, located near my town so we had a 121 interview at a bar/coffee-shop near my house. Her career path after MBA was quite unusual... The interview was in English. She spent one hour only convincing me that the MBA is not a suitable choice for me and I should look into cheaper and shorter training from INSEAD (i.e executive classes) !!! After the interview, she even texted me and sent me link to executive classes! I didn't know how to evaluate the interview afterward. Overall, my two interviewers were extremely friendly and casual. And it was kind of confusing. It was more a discussion between friends or colleagues rather than a "formal" interview. I knew it from other interview debrief but was still very surprised :) Hope that helps :)

Hi I am a female and my first interview was with a male alumni. The interview was friendly and relaxed but professional, he had read my whole application and had a list of around 15 questions. The interview lasted for 70 minutes. He asked: -about all of my transitions in my resume -why business from engineering? -why insead? which campus? -what is your day to day job? -how do you differentiate your service from your competitor at your current company? -how do you segment your customers? -asked about my post mba goal -what schools did you apply to and why? -in a team setting what is your tendency? e.g. a leader, follower, etc -if you dont get admitted what would you do this year? -why do you want to leave your company given your current position? Why your manager would let you go? At the end I asked him a few questions and when I was done he mentioned that he would recommend me to the Adcom but that would be only his feedback and doesn't guarantee my admission. My second interview was with a female alumni, extremely casual, fun, and friendly. She only asked me one question and that was: tell me about yourself. While I was talking about my post mba goal and my extracurricular activities, we connected in one subject and the rest of the interview was about that subject. She wasn't even taking notes and it felt like a friendly chat. I truly enjoyed that conversation, I had a chance to ask all of my questions about insead, the culture and everything. This one took about 45 minutes. The second interview was very eye opening bc I met a person who had the same goals and aspirations and mine and had achieved all of her goals after MBA. Now I just have to wait and see what the outcome is. Fingers crossed and good luck to everyone else.

So I just went through my interview. I started 20min earlier as the person suppose to go before me didn't show up. My interview lasted 30 min. Very casual. With 2 people: Professor & Acting Vice dean of the program at NUS and 1 Admin. The questions/topics (not necessarily in this order) were: - How did I learn about the NUS/CEMS program? - Powerlifting questions (actually multiple questions because its one of my hobbies) - Talked about my exchange in Finland and my experience - They asked if I had any questions (right at the beginning) - Short term and Long term goals - What is it I believe the program look for in future student - What I know of the consulting industry (as I’m aiming for this industry) - Because I travelled a lot is there actually a place where I feel at home? - Talked about my learning of Mandarin - Importance of being able to adapt quick to new environments and share experience with people from around the world Good luck to everyone :-)
