Just had my Tuck interview, it was fairly conversational and the interviewer was very friendly.
Questions -
- TMAY
- Why MBA
- STG and LTG
- Why consulting and not big tech
- Produest achievement
- Follow up on the same
- TMAT you disagreed with manager
- TMAT you helped someone
- What will your legacy at Tuck be
- Question on a community experience
- Any questions/ Something you would like me to know
She asked a lot of follow up questions to keep the conversation engaging before jumping to next questions and that’s why I think there were lesser behavioural questions. Lasted for odd 40 mins

Interviewer introduced herself and set the expectation about the duration (30-40 mins) and explained how this was just one part of them knowing me better.
She seemed genuinely invested and curious to get to know me better. A few of her questions felt like thoughtful follow-ups based on what I had just shared.
1. She had already gone through my resume, and she wanted to discuss first about my corporate experience.
2. Most meaningful contributions I’ve made to the firm and those I worked with
3. Then she wanted to understand why did I pivot to my startup, what stage was it in and what was the future?
4. How would I work on my startup along with my academics?
5. What skills do I bring to improve collaboration and team work?
6. Short term and long term goal
7. Plan B if current short term goal couldn't be materialized?
8. Leadership experience difference b/w corporate and startup? Which was better?
9. What I like about my leadership skills?
10. Three strengths my coworkers like about me?
11. Three weaknesses my coworkers feel I could improve upon?
12. Failure story?
13. Why MBA?
14. Why Kellogg?
15. Contributions to Kellogg?
16. Why now? Will I be able to adjust to school/campus life after these many years of work experience?
17. Is there anything else I'd like to share?

The interviewer came across as very straight up from the beginning. There wasn’t much of a friendly vibe initially—he seemed to be a no-nonsense personality, reading directly from his sheet and keeping things formal. He asked me all the mainstream/core questions without much cross-questioning. However later i had a few curve ball questions. As against 45 minutes, my interview went upto 60 minutes.
Towards the end, however, the tone shifted. We had a more open and friendly conversation, which I really enjoyed. Overall, everything went well, and I felt confident in my responses.
Questions asked:
1. Walk me through your resume
2. Short-term career goal
3. What is your Plan B?
4. What classes will you take and why?
5. What legacy do you want to leave at Tuck?
6. Tell me about a time you got critical feedback
7. Tell me about a time your weakness created a difficulty for you
8. Tell me about a time you had to deliver hard news to someone
9. What did you learn about Tuck today?
10. Three words that define you with respect to Tuck
P.S. Also, a big thank you to GMAT Club. I prepared from the interview question banks shared here over the last 6 years, and honestly, many of my questions came directly from there. So please leverage these debriefs — make a list of all the questions, prepare thoroughly.

I had my interview earlier this week (3/4) with a first-year student. The interview was conversational and my interviewer was very nice and understanding of any nerves I had. Since I’m filling this out a few days after, I can’t quite remember what I was asked but I’d recommend you be prepared to address the following topics:
– Tell me about yourself / walk me through your resume.
– Why Marshall?
– Short / Long-term Goals?
– TMAT you faced a challenge.
– Leadership example.
– Questions for the interviewer.
Another thing worth noting, is that my interviewer mentioned this is the first year they’re having students conduct interviews.

It wasn’t that bad, and I got similar questions about what you will find on this site, among others. Definitely prep prep prep beforehand. I had rehearsed 4 of the 5 questions I got, and they felt like softball questions. I guess we shall see!
1. Tell about yourself outside of your professional experience.
2. TMAT, when someone above you changed your plan at the last minute, how did you respond, and what was the outcome?
3. TMAT where someone’s voice or input wasn’t being heard. What did you do, and what was the result of the situation?
4. TMAT when you had to solve a complex problem that required a lot of information.
5. Short- and long-term goals and plans if those don’t work out?

1. Tell me about yourself.
2. Why MBA?
3. Why MBA now?
4. Why McCombs?
5. How will you contribute to McCombs?
After each answer he proceeded to add in his own experiences. After about 25 minutes of discussion, I asked him about his McCombs experience for about 10 minutes.

The interviewer was very friendly, but I could tell she had a list on hand and was in a bit of a hurry. No small talk in the beginning. She quickly introduced herself and started the questions.
1. Self-introduction.

3. What if things don’t go as expected (plan B)?
4. TMAT you had disagreement with your colleagues/ managers.
5. TMAT you encountered ambiguous project scope.
6. What clubs in Anderson would you like to participate in?
Then she left the remaining 5 minutes for me to ask her questions.
Overall I had a good experience.

1. Share more about your background... academic journey inside and outside of class... professional life... what has motivated you... some personal context on your upbringing that you may want to share (all in one question)
2. Why did you do your undergrad in the US> (I’m an international)
3. Could you talk about your time at X company?
4. What has growth looked like for you at work, and what are you particularly proud of?
5. You studied and worked away from your home culture, what has been your growth as it relates to working with people whose identities and backgrounds may be really different than yours?
6. Would love to know more about your leadership skills. Darden is intentional about cultivating high impact leaders. Looks like you have some experience. Can you share more about what that’s looked like formally or informally and whether that is professional or extra curricular.
7. Sounds like you’ve been thinking for a while what you want your next steps to be and have some direction on pointing you towards it. Can you expand on that a little bit more, why a change at this particular point in time, and why school now?
8. Would love to hear a little bit more about your interest specifically in Darden and where you want to spend these 2 years. What about Darden resonates with you and how would you contribute to the community here as well?
9. Would love to know about you outside of work. How do you like to spend your time? What are your interests outside of professional life?
10. What questions do you have for me?

Didn’t get any info about interviewer beforehand.
The 2nd-year student told me she’s also non-traditional and all her interviews have been non-traditional students. Blind interview.
Everyone is correct – this was an incredibly relaxed interview – just felt like a conversation (students who spoke to adcom also reflected the same sentiment).
-Tell me about yourself – no mention of the 5-10mins. I talked the whole time, no interruptions.
-TMAT took on a challenge.
-TMAT you worked with others with a different background.
-ST/LT goals?
-Why MBA?
-Why Darden?
-What do you like to do outside of work?
-Anything else you want to highlight?
-Any questions for me?

Interviewer was very calm. Introduced himself and mentioned that he had already read my resume. After that, he spoke about how he wanted to structure our conversation before proceeding to the set of questions he had prepared.
Following were the questions:
1. Tell me about yourself.
2. Why MBA?
3. TMAT I tackled a language barrier (because I mentioned my international work experience).
4. Failure and learning?
5. Who have you spoken with at Ross and what did you learn?
After that we spent 20 minutes discussing his Ross experience and the questions I had for him. All in all a positive and conversational interview experience. Hoping for the best!
