I had my interview today and I was asked the following; Introduce yourself. Why Fuqua? Leadership experience without formal designation What you hope to contribute to Fuqua. The interview lasted for 45mins. Her questions lasted for about 25mins and we spent the rest of the time with my questions and follow up conversations. It was an interesting and relaxed conversation. Felt like I was over prepared. My advice would be that you should find a way to infuse your stories that you feel the need to share in your intro and with other questions. The time goes by very fast and you may not get asked questions you have prepared punchy responses for. A friend had his yesterday and he was asked the following; Tell me about yourself Failed project Leadership style Attributes you look out for in your team member Constructive feedback Looking out for in Fuqua mba Why mba and things you look to get out for Short and long term? How do you support teams in leadership How do you handle a non collaborative teammate. Goodluck guys! ❤️

Interview was a Zoom chat with a local alumnus. Pretty conversational / laid back demeanor. Questions included: (1) Resume walkthrough. (2) Why MBA? (3) Why Fuqua? (4) What do you want to be involved in on campus? (5) When did you run into an obstacle and how did you get past it? (6) Describe a couple leaders you’ve had exposure to and admire. And then thereafter gave me time to ask questions. Time: ~45 minutes.

It lasted for 45-50 minutes. It was conversational. She made comments and shared her point of view on my stories – which show that she really engaged with our conversation. It started with her introduction about herself/ her internship then some typical questions: Tell me about yourself. Why MBA? Why now? Why Fuqua? Then a series of TMA questions: 1. Ethical dilemma 2. Gave feedback to others 3. Miscommunication Then some questions about Fuqua 1. What you wanna do at Fuqua? 2. What team Fuqua mean to you?

Had my interview with a second-year student. It was super long, took about 1hr 45 minutes, probably the longest MBA interview I have ever had. But it was very conversational and had a lot of follow up questions. So be thorough with your story. Some of the questions which I remember are: 1. Why I have chosen to be in the sector in which I work currently (I had a non-traditional background) 2.Why MBA? 3. Short-term and Long-term Goals? 4.Specific skills that you plan on gaining from MBA? 5.Strengths? 6.Weakness? 7.Classes and Programs in Fuqua that will help you? 8.How is your leadership style? 9.How was being a diverse team/diversity helpful to you? 10.What do you think is the most important as aspect of building relationship with people? 11. A follow-up question about a particular experience in my professional life that I shared. 12.A time when you had problems communicating? 13.What does DQ mean to you? 14.A particular instance where you had to deal with ethical issue? 15.Why Fuqua? 16.How will you contribute to Fuqua? 17.Any questions for me? My advice will be to have a good knowledge on Fuqua, its curriculum, its culture and values.

R1 applicant here, just completed my interview with a second year student at early November. Very friendly and conversational, but also deep dive into your personal thoughts. Would suggest expecting: 1. a slightly longer interview (40-60 mins), so better have a great sleep the day before 2. more school specific questions (e.g. DQ, Team Fuqua, DEI ...) 3. a very kind interviewer, so enjoy!

R1 applicant, did my interview earlier this week. Expect a decent amount of DQ questions (I got asked time I chose a hard right over an easy wrong), Fuqua questions (what does team Fuqua mean to you) and I personally didn’t get any of the usual questions (why bschool, why now etc). My interviewer didn’t come in with a script, and asked questions based on where the conversation was going. For example, when I mentioned that the general corporate leadership landscape needs change, he asked me about my thoughts on a CEO’s duty etc. Just be ready to back up everything you say because they definitely dig deep!

A second-year student conducted my virtual interview. They were friendly and engaging, allowing a fun and casual conversation. The interview lasted 60 minutes, with the last 10-15 minutes used for questions for the interviewer. 1. Walk me through your resume. 2. Why MBA? 3. Why Fuqua? 4. How would you add to the diversity at Fuqua? 5. Tell me a time when you exhibited DQ. 6. What is Team Fuqua to you? 7. What is your leadership style? 8. Tell me a leadership story where you failed. 9. What are three attributes that make a good team? 10. Tell me a time when teamwork failed. 11. Do you have any questions for me? 12. Do you want me to convey anything additional to the admissions committee?

My interviewer was a 2003 Alum of Japanese nationality currently located in New York. He was very friendly and encouraged me after every answer which made me feel very supported. He also knew one of the alum I talked about. He seemed genuinely interested in what I had to say and asked a few follow-up questions as well. At the very end, he asked if I could speak in Japanese with him (which I had informed earlier in the interview that I could) and I talked a bit about how I learned Japanese and the interview ended on a positive note. Questions: 1. Tell me about yourself 2. What are your short term and long term goals and why do you want to do MBA 3. Tell me about your biggest professional achievement and why it is your biggest achievement 4. Tell me about a leadership experience 5. What is your communication style 6. Tell me about your teamwork experience outside of work and what did you learn 7. Tell me about a time when teamwork didn’t go well 8. How will your colleagues and friends describe you 9. What motivates you 10. How will you contribute to Fuqua 11. Any questions for me

The interview was conducted by an alum, and it was incredibly friendly. After some small talk, he explained the process, the logistics and that the interview is just a part of the whole interview process. The interview took about an hour. He took notes and referred to them as he asked some questions. Here are the questions: 1) Tell me about yourself 2) Why MBA? Why now? 3) Follow-up questions (i.e. what's a role you envision yourself to be in in the long-term specifically) 4) For consulting, whether I want to be a generalist or a specialist (Given that was my short term goal) 5) Why Fuqua? 6) How would you contribute to Fuqua community? 7) Tell me about the last time you had a performance review and your strengths and weaknesses 8) Follow-up: Did you do anything to resolve your weaknesses and what were the results? 9) Tell me about a time you had to adapt your communication skills to influence a team or person? 10) Tell me about a diverse team you lead and how that led to the project's success 11) What defines your leadership style?

The interviewer was a second-year US student at Fuqua, who is energetic, engaging and seems interested in my background and work exp. The interview lasted about 50 mins, with the last 20 mins for me to ask him some questions about his exp at Fuqua. The interview felt different compared to other alumni interviews I experienced as the interviewer gave his thoughts/comments after each question. It felt casual like a conversation with a friend, which helped to put me at ease. Here is the list of questions: How is this week going so far for you? How did you transition from your prior employer to your home country and how did you find your current startup? What is the biggest challenge that you had at your current startup? What is your future dream? What does diversity mean to you, in your opinion? What is the gender breakdown at the current startup? (threw me off a little bit) What is the most important lesson that I learned at my current startup? So you had your startup experience and your future dream, what do you want to do next and how does Fuqua come into play Asked about school athletics since we both cheered for US college sports Have you ever visited another metropolitan city in your country? Are there stereotypes between different cities in your country? Update: Got accepted with $$ as a Fuqua Impact Scholar! Super excited for the opportunity, good luck everyone!
