Hi @savvy6699,

Your have a solid and differentiated profile. Four years at a tier-1 consulting firm in Canada, coupled with two promotions, show strong professional progression and performance. Your background in tech consulting naturally bridges into a post-MBA move to product management in big tech, and your North American work and education experience distinguishes you from the larger Indian applicant pool. A 3.6 GPA from a Canadian university is competitive, and your leadership experience across both academics and work strengthens your candidacy.
However, your GMAT Focus score of 655 is on the lower side for top programs. If possible, I’d encourage you to retake the GMAT and aim for a 685+ score to strengthen your application and stay competitive.

Highlighting your leadership, professional achievements/tangible impact, relevant skills, career goals, unique experiences, and fit with the program effectively will be crucial in crafting a compelling application. To maximize your chances, consider applying to a balanced mix of reach, target, and safety schools.

Thank you for sharing your profile, @aholder56! The GRE score is below Wharton’s average(around 324-326+). While GRE is just one part of the puzzle, at M7 schools like Wharton, test scores are an important data point to help mitigate GPA or academic concerns. If there's time, consider retaking the GRE to aim for a 325+ (especially to improve Quant) to be more competitive. 3.1 GPA is a concern. However, if you can present a strong upward trajectory, a difficult course load, or extenuating circumstances, it can be mitigated, especially with a higher GRE and a strong professional track record.

We’d love to learn more about your extracurricular involvement, professional experience, and personal journey so we can offer a more tailored assessment of your profile and evaluate your chances at your target school more accurately. If you'd like, feel free to book a profile evaluation session.

Hi, this is a very compelling family business profile.

Clearing CA on the first attempt and stepping directly into senior management with P&L and cross-border team oversight gives you executive-level credibility. The sustainability startup and industry association role add strategic and ESG dimensions that align perfectly with INSEAD’s global leadership ethos. Your lack of a formal undergrad is not disqualifying, but the GMAT will carry extra weight, aim for 695+ to mitigate that.

Your motivation transitioning into a strategic, cross-functional leadership role and gaining external experience before scaling the family business is exactly what INSEAD looks for in FB applicants. The extracurriculars (dance, public speaking, association leadership) round you out well.

With strong execution, this can be a top-tier application. Let’s refine the essays to emphasize both scale and succession vision.

@Rpvvrp - Your CA qualification, acads, work-ex and extracurriculars present strong angles.

With 6 years in the family business, your profile has potential to showcase a good mix of tangible achievements and functional skillsets such as operations, finance, etc.

The post-MBA goal needs more clarity and specificity (e.g. target sector/ function/ geography), but at this point, aim for a strong GMAT score (ideally 675+).

Feel free to reach out if you need support on the applications.

Hi @Rpvvrp,

You have a highly credible and leadership-rich profile that aligns well with INSEAD’s focus on international exposure and entrepreneurial mindset. Clearing CA in the first attempt is also impressive and demonstrates strong intellectual capability and discipline. Your nearly 6 years of post-qualification experience in a strategic finance role within your family manufacturing business combined with managing cross-border teams and driving automation positions you well for a move into broader leadership. The co-founding role in a sustainability startup adds innovation and future-facing relevance.
Regarding GMAT, you should aim for a 685+ score to strengthen your application and stay competitive. In your essays should emphasize your leadership journey, transition from finance to strategic, cross-functional leadership role and global ambitions.

Thank you for sharing your impressive profile @Ro1234. You bring a highly unique background that will stand out in a competitive applicant pool, particularly due to your military experience, multilingual fluency, academic rigor, and real-world exposure to international legal and intelligence challenges.

3+ years in Israeli Defense Forces' intelligence units, a major differentiator, especially for top schools that value leadership under pressure, risk management, and global awareness. Legal experience in international tech transactions and gambling regulation + military + startups = versatile profile. A GPA of 87.5 in Israeli law school is good and likely viewed as competitive, especially when coupled with your professional engagements throughout. High Impact Experience During War: 200 days of reserve duty during the current conflict will speak volumes about your sense of duty, character, and values. Your international regulatory environment experience would be helpful. The GMAT Focus score of 695+ will be crucial for Stanford.

While you’ve consulted in startups and legal settings, MBB-type consulting firms may look for more structured corporate experience unless offset by your post-MBA goals and strong internships. Your path is rich but non-linear. Your essays will need to connect the dots: military → law → consulting/PE/defense tech, and how the MBA is the bridge. Your law background may raise questions about quantitative readiness, so consider a strong GMAT quant score.

Clarify in essays: Why MBA now? How will the MBA bridge law/intel to business/consulting? Long-term goals- Do you aim to stay in Israel? Expand globally? Support national defense via VC/PE?

Questions to reflect on:
1. What’s the common thread tying your military, legal, and startup experiences?
2. Do you envision returning to Israel or working internationally post-MBA?
3. How do your values and leadership principles, shaped by military service, define your vision?
4. How comfortable are you with potentially pivoting toward roles outside your home country for a few years?

We’d love to learn more about your professional experience and personal journey so we can offer a more tailored assessment of your profile and evaluate your chances at your target schools more accurately. If you'd like, feel free to book a profile evaluation session.

Cheers!

I am a 2X founder and a doctor (MBBS) from India. My second startup was funded by a pre seed VC. The startup was focused on delivering surgical services to patients of tier 2 and 3 towns in india. We made approx 200k USD in revenue, and have received several awards, including from the CM of Gujarat, in the presence of the President of India. We failed to raise follow up finding though and 1 year ago, I pivoted from that to strengthening My family business of running an Ivf centre. My first startup was in college which was an edtech platform for Indian mbbs students and we had approx 20k users.

Hi Trishala, this is an inspiring profile.

Your journey as a doctor-turned-2x founder in the healthcare space, especially in underserved Indian regions, aligns well with Stanford and HBS's preference for mission-driven changemakers. A 715 GMAT Focus is good to go, can be a bit higher.

INSEAD and ISB should be highly viable, especially with your healthcare goals. For Stanford, you’ll need to go deep on “why you” in the context of long-term systemic impact in healthcare delivery. I’d recommend emphasizing your pivot to IVF as a scaling strategy, not a fallback. A short addendum on the GMAT is worth considering if time permits.

This is a highly moldable profile, let’s refine the positioning to resonate with each school’s DNA.

Thank you for sharing your profile, @Trishala Punjabi. You’ve done what very few MBA applicants have: launched 2 ventures, one of which was funded and scaled to real revenue and impact. The social impact focus (Tier 2 & 3 healthcare delivery) adds another powerful narrative, and receiving recognition at the national level (CM + President) is gold for leadership and impact storytelling. As a qualified doctor running a family IVF center, you have credibility in the healthcare field. This, combined with entrepreneurial drive, makes you a strong fit for schools that prioritize healthcare leadership and innovation. Diversity + Indian Doctor + Female Founder: This intersection can make your story stand out. You're not from the typical IT/Engineering/Finance background that makes up a large segment of Indian applicants.

A 715 on the GMAT Focus is well above average and competitive for all your target schools, even HBS and Stanford. Your academic background (MBBS, 8+ GPA) confirms intellectual readiness. Work Experience duration (3 Years) is on the lower side for HBS/Stanford/INSEAD, though the quality of experience might compensate.

Failed VC follow-on: This isn't a negative; how you reflect on it matters. Admissions committees love applicants who learn from failure and grow. Show maturity and insight.

You need to clearly communicate the strategic nature of the Family Business Transition move, not as a fallback but as a bold step in your long-term healthcare vision.

Questions to reflect on:
1. What did you learn as a founder- about yourself, leadership, and failure?
2. Why do you believe you need an MBA now, not a year later?
3. How does the IVF business connect with your broader vision for healthcare?
4. Where do you see yourself in 10 years: building, leading, investing, or innovating in healthcare?
5. What kind of leadership style have you developed across your ventures?

We’d love to learn more about your professional experience and journey. If you'd like, feel free to book a profile evaluation session.

@Trishala Punjabi - strong profile, overall.

Your GMAT score, combined with the MBBS degree and 2X founder experience positions you well. The 3 years of work-ex is slightly below the average for some M7s, so a lot would depend on the impact of your roles, and career progression.

It's also important to have a robust narrative covering your experiences, career goals, why MBA and why 'school-X'.

Hope this helps. Feel free to reach out for a deeper chat.

Hi Trishala,

Your profile is highly distinctive and compelling, particularly for MBA programs with strong healthcare and entrepreneurship tracks. As a doctor and 2X founder, you bring a rare combination of clinical expertise and business leadership. The impact of your second startup delivering surgical care to underserved regions, generating ~$200K in revenue, VC-backed, and nationally recognized demonstrates strong entrepreneurial drive and social impact. The pivot to your family’s IVF business further shows continuity in healthcare leadership.
715 GMAT is an excellent score and 8+ GPA provide solid academic backing. Your goals to remain in healthcare/pharma post-MBA are credible, given your background. Focus your essays on the scalability of your impact, lessons from failure, and your vision for healthcare delivery in emerging markets.

Highlighting your leadership, professional achievements/tangible impact, relevant skills, career goals, unique experiences, and fit with the program effectively will be crucial in crafting a compelling application. To maximize your chances, consider applying to a balanced mix of reach, target, and safety schools.

Hi @Diiiiiiii2344412,

Your profile is strong and well-rounded for ISB's PGP Young Leaders Program, coming from DU with an Economics degree (7.5 GPA), your internships at WWF, Deloitte, and a top analytics firm along with your current role leading product initiatives at a fintech startup.HPAIR membership, NEC AIR 10 indicate a high-achieving, competitive edge. Your dual society leadership adds to your demonstrated initiative and teamwork skills. For a finance/PE goal post-MBA, consider reinforcing your application with exposure to investment finance (even via certifications or side projects), as direct PE transitions are tough without prior finance experience.
Test score - Do have a GMAT/GRE/CAT score yet?

Highlighting your leadership, achievements, relevant skills, career goals, unique experiences, and fit with the program effectively will be crucial in crafting a compelling application. To maximize your chances, consider applying to a balanced mix of reach, target, and safety schools.

Hi Sourabh, thanks for sharing.

Your GPA (6.8) and GRE (319) are at the lower end for ESSEC’s MiM, but still within an admissible range if the application highlights leadership and quant comfort. The manufacturing background and pivot to business analytics is logical, especially if you can link it to specific tech/digital initiatives you’ve been exposed to.

For MiM programs, admissions will also look at academic trajectory and internships. If you can add any certifications (SQL, Python, data visualization) or project metrics, it will strengthen your case. ESSEC is realistic; you can also consider ESCP, ESMT, and Grenoble as additional options.

Let’s map the narrative to emphasize transferable analytical skills and career clarity.

I am a Vietnamese finance professional with 2 years of full-time experience in investment banking and equity research, having worked at both domestic and international firms. Over this time, I have led or supported 6+ live transactions across sectors such as healthcare, logistics, and industrials, with an aggregate deal value exceeding $75 million. My responsibilities have spanned from financial modeling (DCF, LBO, trading/transaction comps), company valuation, and industry mapping to managing investor materials and site-level diligence.

In parallel, I’ve led multiple student mentoring initiatives through CFA Community Vietnam and contributed to Women in Finance roundtables that supported 100+ students and young professionals, with a focus on advancing gender equity and access to finance careers.

Post-MBA, I’m looking to transition from sell-side advisory into the buy-side, specifically in growth equity, sustainability-focused investing, or development capital, where I can combine my execution skills with a long-term value creation mindset. I’m especially interested in platforms that invest in emerging markets or Southeast Asia, with a focus on scalable solutions in education, infrastructure, digital services, or financial inclusion.

I’m targeting post-MBA roles in London, Singapore, or Hong Kong for about 3-5 years and then come back to my home country to continue the journey. I am currently preparing to meet the GMAT score threshold for top-tier schools while taking a reflective career pause to retool and upskill for the next phase.

Hi, this is a promising early-career finance profile with a clear emerging markets angle.

Your 2 years in IB/equity research with $75M+ in deal value and sector diversity is a solid foundation for a buy-side pivot. The mentoring and Women in Finance initiatives add leadership and community impact, which LBS and INSEAD value highly. The key swing factor will be your GMAT, target 695+ to be competitive at LBS and INSEAD. For Judge and NUS, a 685+ would keep you in range.

Your post-MBA focus on growth equity and sustainable investing in Southeast Asia is a differentiated goal if tied to your regional insights. The career pause can be framed as intentional upskilling and reflection rather than a gap, and make sure to show proactive learning.

This profile can be positioned powerfully; let’s craft it around impact and vision.

Thank you for sharing your profile, @HPP08. Military professionals are often seen as strong leaders, team players, and disciplined operators. INSEAD especially values international exposure, leadership under pressure, and diverse perspectives. With 10 years of experience, you would be among the more experienced members of the cohort. This can work to your advantage if you demonstrate progression, cross-functional leadership, and a strong motivation for the MBA at this stage in your career. While Indian applicants are often overrepresented in MBA pools, female candidates with a military background are rare and highly differentiated; this can significantly improve your chances if framed well in essays/interviews.

While INSEAD evaluates applications holistically, your GMAT FE score is below their average. If time permits and you can improve your score even to 665+, a retake could shift your application from a borderline to a more confident position. You might want to take a look at this success story.

You didn’t specify your post-MBA industry. That’s critical. Are you aiming for consulting? Corporate strategy? Development/impact work? Entrepreneurship?

Key questions to reflect on:
1. What specific civilian roles interest you and why?
2. How have you demonstrated business acumen in a military setting?
3. What leadership stories or mission-critical decisions define your values and resilience?
4. What do you want your MBA classmates to learn from your journey?

We’d love to learn more about your academic background, extracurricular involvement, professional experience, and personal journey so we can offer a more tailored assessment of your profile and evaluate your chances at INSEAD or other top B-schools. If you'd like, feel free to book a profile evaluation session.

Middle office front to back, execution expert and risk overseer. Trusted by clients, trading and sales desks with handling high stakes situations with real economic impact. Looking to pivot from MO to a role that has real world impact with higher stakes, and bring the unique set of skills I’ve acquired along the way. I’m in the NY area, and not looking to make a drastic move.

Hi
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, your profile looks good on the surface. With 4 years of experience in IB, middle office and a stellar GPA, you bring both academic strength and deep industry exposure. Your role, bridging front to back, overseeing execution and risk, and being trusted by clients and trading desks demonstrates high stakes responsibility and valuable skills that can translate well into PE.

The key challenge will be framing a compelling and credible pivot from MO to PE, especially since many PE candidates come from traditional front office deal roles. Are there any direct transaction or project experiences you can highlight to strengthen that story? Also, have you had any exposure to investment decision making or financial modeling, even indirectly? With a strong GMAT and a sharp narrative, you’re definitely a strong candidate for your target schools.

I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for top MBA programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances— happy to help!
No pressure, no strings—just helpful insights on where you stand and how you can strengthen your chances.

Hi, thanks for sharing this unique pivot.

With a 3.96 GPA and NY-based IB background (albeit middle office), you're in a solid academic position. The challenge lies in making the leap to front-office PE. That shift typically demands deal exposure, modeling, and ownership stories. Your “execution expert” branding is strong, but you’ll need to articulate how your MO skillset translates directly into investor mindset, strategic capital deployment, and client trust.

GMAT will be crucial, target 695+ to stay competitive at Wharton and Stern. Fuqua feels achievable if the story resonates and PE goals are realistically positioned (perhaps via growth equity or operational investing). Consider Haas or CBS if NYC location flexibility increases.

Let’s map out how to reframe your current work into front-office-ready impact.

Thanks for sharing your background @Boris 17! High GPA (3.96), this is a major asset, particularly for schools like Wharton and Stern, where academic performance is highly examined. It also helps offset potential concerns if you don’t ace the GMAT (though a competitive score is still key). Your experience in Investment Banking, especially in execution and risk oversight, demonstrates both technical fluency and front-office exposure, skills highly valued in PE and strategic finance roles. If you can show leadership in high-stakes transactions, that’s even more compelling.

Staying in the NY area adds a pragmatic angle to your goals. Schools like Stern and Wharton (especially via their NYC-aligned networks) value applicants who have a clear regional focus. You’ve articulated your motivation to shift into a more “real-world impact” and “high-stakes” role, a theme that can be compelling if backed by stories of tangible outcomes you've driven or influenced.

No GMAT yet! Without a score, it’s difficult to benchmark your current standing against peers. For PE-focused candidates, especially from finance backgrounds, you'll need a competitive GMAT score of 695+.

While your responsibilities seem high-impact, adcoms may need convincing that your work isn’t back-office. You’ll want to quantify your contributions, highlight direct exposure to clients, and show leadership or decision-making authority, especially if you’re aiming for PE roles.

No mention of extracurriculars or leadership outside work. Adcoms want to see more than just a sharp banker. If you haven’t already, mention:
1. Leadership in volunteering, mentoring, or community service
2. Involvement in causes (climate/education/finance literacy/etc.)
3. Initiatives at work (ERGs, mentorship programs, etc.)

We’d love to learn more about your extracurricular involvement, professional experience, and personal journey so we can offer a more tailored assessment of your profile and evaluate your chances at your target schools more accurately. If you'd like, feel free to book a profile evaluation session.
