I recently took the GMAT Focus and scored a 625 (81Q / 85V / 77DI) and am planning to take again in mid-September. In the short-term, I plan to return to my role as a consultant for a few years but would eventually like to exit into sports management or something adjacent. I was a DI athlete at Notre Dame and would love to use my career to return to the sports world in a professional fashion. I am targeting midwest schools only.
A 700 GMAT Classic and consulting background give credibility for a short-term return to consulting. Your long-term aim of working in sports management complements the academic pedigree. Given your Midwest preference, Booth and Kellogg are strong fits; Ross and Mendoza are realistic options too. With your DI athletics experience at Notre Dame, you can credibly make the case for this pivot.
Probably most valuable: your personal drive and athletic insight give you authenticity in sports consulting. Demonstrating athletic leadership, contacts, or sports-related business knowledge in essays will sharpen impact.
Bottom line: you’ve got the test score and domain signal, tie them together in the narrative.
