I do kot know...at the moment, I am reviewing and comparing the entire book to the previous OG side by side but unfortunately until now NO new questions.

Even DS at a glance looks like the same. I need to complete the process. It will take a while

However, as I talked with bb, for now PS is what you see above.

Hi carcass - in that case, is it worth ordering the new book?? I have 2019 (plus this website). Wondering if it makes sense just to order the DI book. Happy to hear your thoughts.

The main Official Guide 2023-2024 is completed. NO new questions whatsoever.

Thank you guys

Thanks for going through it. Wouldn't be surprising if this holds true for the remaining guides as well.

These guides do not have any Integrated reasoning type questions in the data insights section?
They do include Integrated Reasoning but only in the online question bank that comes with the guides because IR questions have a lot of live functionality, such as sorting of tables or clicking on tabs. So, they don't work well in book form.

Thanks a lot for the reply. :)
Do the IR online questions in the mixed guide and the IR online questions in the data insights guide overlap? I mean my only issue is with the IR questions so should I buy both the mixed OG and the data insights guide or just one of these would suffice?

The main Official Guide 2023-2024 is completed. NO new questions whatsoever.

Thank you guys

Hello, is it possible for you that already went trough all the questions to make some sort of reference table from the 2022 OGs to the 2023-24 OGs?
I have the 2022 OGs (the three of them) but right now i dont know which questions are included in the 2023-24 version and which arent.
And i would like to do ONLY the 2023-24 questions, but referencing them in the 2022 OGs.

I hope I made myself clear.

Hey did you figure this out? As I would like to practice only the questions mentioned in the newest OG!

Posted from my mobile device

There are no new questions in the official guide 2024 compared to the 2022 edition.

For anyone looking for the latest and greatest, I’m going to give you some really dark scary truth - During the years when GMAC updates their questions in the book, they update about 15% of the book. This means 15% of the total questions are new and 85% are questions from the previous addition.

2024 OG focus official guide is 100% copy of the 2022 official guide, minus the sentence correction and geometry (so it actually contains fewer questions).

The 2022 official guide contained 15% new
Questions compared to 2021 edition.

The 2021 edition was an exact copy of the 2020 edition.

2020 edition had 15% new questions

And so on.

The 2024 edition contains about 30% of new questions since 2019 and 70% are from pre-2019.

Moreover, the new questions added to the official guide are questions retired from previous exams. Based on anecdotal feedback and other evidence, many of these questions were written 10-20 years ago, so even the latest questions in the official guide the 15% of them, are from pre- 2010 exams.

Live with this 🤣

PS. How can you make this information useful? You should realize that the questions you see in the official guide are amazing and fantastic but they will not be the exact questions you will see on your test at the test center. Moreover these amazing and fantastic official questions do not have an expiration date. Doesn’t matter affect, nobody knows when these questions were written exactly. Instead of trying to chase new questions which would have a known creation dates, it’s better to invest into knowledge and material on how to handle any question, whether new or old. Don’t get fixated on the vintage of the questions, Instead focus on the material. If you know the background of math and have a strategy for critical reasoning and reading comprehension, you will be able to tackle any question from any edition of the official guide .

I realized that 11 NEW "logic-based" DS questions (Criteria, Comparisons, Graphs/Tables, Verbal Reasoning, etc.) were added to the OG 2024 online question bank, sometime between June and October. You can access them among the 43 "hard" questions.

I've also seen a lot of questions about the differences between the OG 2022 and the OG 2023-2024, so here's my analysis:

Most of the questions between OG 2022 and Focus Edition OG 2023-2024 are the same.

The biggest important difference is about half of the Data Sufficiency (DS) questions were removed from OG 2022; Focus Edition focuses on word problems, not "pure math" / algebra.

It's easier to avoid Geometry if you're using the OG 2022; on the Wiley.com question bank, you can just unselect those questions.

Attached is a detailed analysis I did on the DS, based on the topic categorization on GMAT Club.

76 additional IR questions (called "Integrated Reasoning" on the classic edition) were added to OG 2024, plus 131 in the Data Insights Guide:

OG 2024 has 150 IR questions:

• 43 Multi-Source Reasoning

• 29 Table Analysis

• 34 Graphics Interpretation

• 44 Two-Part Analysis

In contrast, OG 2022 has 74 IR questions:

• 23 Multi-Source Reasoning

• 17 Table Analysis

• 15 Graphics Interpretation

• 19 Two-Part Analysis

Additionally, the Data Insights Guide for 2024 has 131 IR questions:

• 23 Multi Source Reasoning

• 50 Two-Part Analysis

• 30 Graphics Interpretation

• 28 Table Analysis

An additional difference is you have more control over the questions you select, with the 2024 guide on the mba.com interface. You can pick the exact number of questions you want from each type and difficulty, to simulate a practice test.

For example, on average, a Data Insights section has (based on 7 takes of official practice tests 1 & 2):

• 6 Data Sufficiency

• 5 Two-Part Analysis

• 4 Multi-Source Reasoning (either 3 or 6, in sets of 3)

• 3 Graphics Interpretation

• 2 Table Analysis

Creating these "fake tests", with a timer of 45 minutes, works well for Quant and Data Insights, and can help you work on your time management, but you won't be able to review your answers and change them with any extra time, like you would on the real format. Additionally, for Reading Comp, there is a bug. You have to select all of the questions at one time; otherwise, it often gives only 1 question at a time from each passage.

If you decide to invest in OG 2024, the best value is to buy the bundle of 4 physical books on Amazon for $59, vs $111 bought individually at mba.com. Then I recommend entering the codes from the books to use the online question banks at mba.com.

https://www.amazon.com/Official-Guide-2 ... 1394187750

This bundle has 1,718 questions.

Below, I've attached screenshots of the 4 question banks for this bundle. There's also extra questions in the Diagnostic Exams, under the "Practice Exams" tab on the left (57 in the main OG, 18 DI, 24 Verbal, 15 Quant)

Hi carcass
Thanks for this thread.
Are there any new unseen questions in any of the new official book releases (review & og)? Or all the questions are repeat?

For now the only thing I could say is that PS questions are the same. We have to conclude the process to declare: no buy the new books.

It could be premature.

Wait until we go throughout all the new OGs (all 4) and then we might have a definitive conclusion

be patience

I went through all the DS questions in the OG for Data Insights Review and saw no Verbal DS questions. Perhaps they are waiting until there are retired Verbal DS questions to release some.

Hi MartyTargetTestPrep

maybe.....but I would not bet on this, frankly.

We could but I hardly believe that something is changed in comparison to the old version.

The new focus edition just put off SC and moved the Ds questions under the DI section.

In other words, now, the quantitative section has DS questions AND the integrated reasoning questions separately. The so much anticipated fusion between the IR and DS questions does not exist. Think about a possible scenario in which you do have IR questions in the form of DS. A mash-up. No, does not exist.

The verbal section has ONLy RC and CR questions as we know ever.

What we should see if, in the quant section, the IR/DS questions are positioned. How they unfold. For example: all ds questions and then the IR questions and then PS or mixed up.............As I think, though.
