The GMAT Club Guide to The-Official Guide-for GMAT Review 2018th Edition



The Official Guide 2018 is a great resource - it has real GMAT questions, all questions are arranged in order of difficulty, good explanations, etc but it has one major flaw - no way to sample specific questions or ability to target a specific area - for example all CR questions with idioms or all DS questions that deal with geometry. This Guide attempts to correct that flaw (and a little bit more), making Official Guide even better.


Use this guide to:
  • Find details about every question available in the-Official Guide for GMAT Review
  • Help find specific practice questions and build your custom practice tests that focus on your weak areas
  • Automate your OG Practice with a timer and keep all of your results in one place
  • Understand difficulty of each question (it is not very linear as you will notice). We have split difficulty into 4 groups (easy, medium, hard, and very hard). This split is based on the percentile of the question difficulty as determined by GMAT Club Timer sessions
  • Explanations are linked to each question for easy reference
  • All new questions are identified by "new" label
  • Questions are numbered using the same format as in the OG (new update in this version)
  • The split of hard/medium/easy questions has remained the same by en large. However, the location of harder questions has been moving around quite a bit.
  • You can find previous OG 12, 13, 14, and 15 versions here, 2016 edition is available here and 2017 edition is here
  • MGMAT Navigator Basic is another/similar tool available from MGMAT

Thanks a lot for the error log. I attempted to use the timer for the problem solving section but i get the error that i have selected wrong section to practice. Any suggestion on how to resolve this. Thanks. See attached screenshot

I see that you need to specify the question number that matches the question number in the books. The timer looks up those question numbers in Sheets Error Log, Column G. Hence, you need to put 62 and 80 to these cells.

Here I have selected the correct question number as you said(Exactly 62-80 for that matter). I am using this with all other section e.g CR,RC,DS and it works well however with PS, there seems to be some issue. Please check

Timer seems to have some trouble in mac MS office..
i have seen some one else saying same..

Thank you :-D Office in Mac doesn't support Macro, so Timer won't run on Mac devices. Updated information.

When I buy a book following a link to Amazon, it says something about online - how does it work, they provide some kind of code?
I am in Central Asia, so getting a book would take a while - I won't be able to activate this kind prior to getting a print version of the book?
Interesting to note that prices at Amazon are lower than those at Mba.com

Another thing I do not understand - they still have much more question in a book only format? Is there a way to buy the same question bank just online - so that I don't have to wait for delivery? Your advise will be much appreciated!
