Choice B
B is the best assumption among other options.

Conclusion: Free Time -> Depression
P1:Developed country has more #
P2:Developed Country's people have more free time.

Process: Any info attacking deduction from P1 and P2 to conclusion and then negating the statement will give us the assmption.
1.What if living in developed country makes it easier for the diagnosis.
Now negate the above statement.
Assm 1: People of all countries have equal probablity of getting diagnosed to depression
Option B

Quote:
In developed countries, such as the United States, the percentage of the population diagnosed with clinical depression is much greater than that in developing countries. Researchers hypothesize that this difference is due to the increased leisure time afforded to residents of developed countries.

The hypothesis of the researchers depends on which of the following assumptions?

A. Clinical depression is a genetically transmitted malady.
B. Access to accurate diagnostic procedures for depression is equal for residents of developing and developed countries.
C. Most activities characterized as “leisure time” in developed countries are inherently boring.
D. Certain medications that effectively treat clinical depression are not readily available in developing countries.
E. Few residents of developing countries dedicate any of their time to leisure. ow

ARGUMENT: developed countries have more depressed population than developing countries; researchers hypothesize this is because of more available leisure time.

Ans (B) if access to proper diagnostic procedures is not equal for residents in developing countries, than the sample might be skewed.
