In the figure above, if ABCD is a parallelogram, then x =

A. 30
B. 40
C. 60
D. 90
E. 180

X = Y. And 2Y + Y = 180.
So Y=X=60.

2y + y = 180

So, 3y = 180

Or, y = 60 = x, Hence Answer must be (C)

Notice that the interior angle at B is 2y since opposite angles of a parallelogram are equal and therefore, x = 180 - 2y.

We can create the equation:

2y + y = 180

3y = 180

y = 60

Thus, x is 180 - 120 = 60.
