Mohit went cycling on 10 consecutive days. Every day he started from Point X, cycled a certain distance in an easterly direction, and then returned to Point X. What is the total distance he covered in those 10 days?
(1) From the second day onward, Mohit covered twice the distance he covered the previous day. On the fifth day, he covered 3.2 km from Point X east, and then back to Point X.

(1) Each day, Mohit cycled twice the distance he covered the previous day. On the fifth day, he cycled 3.2 km east from Point X, returned to Point X, and the total distance cycled on Day 4 was 1.6 km. For the remaining five days, the distance continued to double, so, for instance, on Day 6, he cycled 6.2 km. Based on this information, we can determine the cycling distance for each of the 10 days, and adding those distances together gives us the total distance cycled in the 10 days. Therefore, statement (1) is sufficient by itself.
(2) This information, on its own, is not sufficient. This doesn't even give us the first day.
