Assume 'a' km distance travelled on day towards east of X.
So total 2a distance on day 1.

Statement 1 - it gives us distance travelled on each subsequent day from day 2 in terms a, 2 times of previous day.

so day 2= 4a, day 3= 8a, day 4=16 a, day 5= 32a etc. and day 5 distance= 3.2 km. so we can find a and hence we can find distance travelled in 10 day.
Sufficient.

Statement 2 talks only about day 1, Not sufficient.
