Did you apply ED?

Yep, ED as a reapplicant. At an info session last month they said they won't start looking at RD applications until early December or so.

Yeah! That's my understanding, however someone in the forum posted Applied RD and invited to interview yesterday. Seems strange? Anways, congratulations :)

Congrats! If you could, could you tell us what you changed from last year to this year as a reapplicant? Any general reapplicant tips, both CBS specific and generally? Thanks and congrats again

AirX, check out my post on page 13 of this thread, it has a bunch of info on the differences between last year and this year for me. Demonstrating interest in the school definitely helped, as did taking much more time to work and polish the essays. Take a look at that other post, though, and feel free to ask away if you have any follow up questions.

I am also a re-applicant who got admitted this year, and the things that changed for me were:

- Family situation changed so that now I would stay in NYC long-term -> showing a definite commitment to the program if admitted
- My additional recommendation letter was very strong. Between my first year rejection and my re-application, I was very fortunate to have worked with a manager who was ruthless to work with but really cared about my professional development and always gave me great feedback and review when it mattered. He always appreciated the fact that I stuck through with him lol... anyways, I think it will really pay off if you can find someone you can work for, who will go out of their ways to help you out. I know this isn't always possible, (depending on your industry) but still. Also, it's worth noting that my manager wasn't some MD at a major prestigious corporation. He wasn't even an MBA degree holder. Trust the adcom's words when they say the letter's ability to speak on your personality and work ethic far outweighs the title of the recommender.
- I again lucked out to have met an interviewer that shared a lot of things with me. I knew it went well when both of us forgot to look at the time and ended up spending a lot more time than initially discussed on the interview day. When you get a list of three alums in the invitation, I would say you look them up on LinkedIn and find someone you can relate the best. (this doesn't necessarily mean someone from your own industry, but only you can determine what the criteria are. Things like common hobbies, from rival schools, etc...I personally believe that these little things do help) And on the interview day, one thing to keep in mind is (as I pointed out in my previous post a few pages back) these alums are helping out the school admissions on their own! I think it'd be reasonably safe to assume that they have a great passion for the program, so you should absolutely match it.

Good luck! Hope to see you on the matriculating Facebook group page soon.

Another lurker here, but since this forum has been exponentially helpful, especially in preparing for GMAT, I thought I'd share....

GMAT: 750
GPA: 3.3
WE: 7 yrs total - 3 years audit, 4 years consulting

Submitted 9/16
Invited to interview 9/30
Interviewed 10/10
Feedback submitted 10/12
Accepted 10/15

Does anyone know if there is a way to privately join the Facebook group without sharing with your network?
