Hi all, quick question for those who have interviewed already... Do you get a notification email or does your online profile get updated automatically when your interviewer submits their eval of you? I interviewed last Tuesday, 10/1, and I haven't seen any update. Did you receive one ahead of the decision? Any advice on reaching out to my interviewer and/or Columbia on the status?

hey jsb,

Your online profile does get updated when an interviewer submits their eval. From talking to mine, he said they typically have a few days to submit their feedback. For example, my application was updated the day of my interview and I received an e-mail notification stating as much.

Tough spot for trying to get that sorted out. If you have a contact in the admissions office, I would reach out to them first and see if they can help you. You don't really want to seem pushy to the person providing your feedback so I'd personally go that route.

Good luck!

Hey everyone, been lurking but haven't posted yet!

Submitted ED on the 2nd of october (hopefully applying on the deadline for early decision doesn't hurt my chances!)

28 years old, 6 years of work experience in pharmaceuticals (my family business) in Hong Kong and London, 660 gmat, 2.12 GPA from Boston University - Never been a good test taker.

I'm re-taking the GMAT next Friday and hope to get something 700 or above. I feel that apart from my GPA and gmat scores, my application is quite strong. I worked extremely hard on my essays and I have clear goals for my family business and how an CBS MBA will help, which I hope I communicated well through the rest of my application.

Unfortunately, one of my recommenders hasn't been able to submit his recommendation yet - but has said he will later today. I've spoke to the AdCom and they've stated that they would look at my new gmat score once I receive my new score (as long as I take it within 6 weeks of my application submission).

If I were by any chance (I know it's improbable/highly unlikely) to find out about receiving an interview prior to taking my gmat, do you think I should still take it?

Good luck to everyone and I'll keep you posted on any updates.

Hi there! I'm a lurker as well with a low-600s GMAT score. I submitted on 9/4 and got an e-mail last week from admissions asking about my new score. I'm re-taking again soon. I can't say for certain, but I got the impression that they're waiting for my new score before offering an interview.

My two cents: I'd say that you should plan to retake it either way. It shows you're dedicated to improvement. I'm retaking either way, even if by some slim chance I'm offered an interview before the test date.

We're in the same boat - I feel I have a strong application other than my GMAT score. I'm 28/F, 6 years work experience in management, 3.3 GPA from the University of Michigan and strong extracurriculars.

It's very nerve-wracking. Best of luck to you! :)

good luck ad209. I found taking a lot of prep tests and going through the Official Guide helpful for a high Q.

Thank you! I've been doing lots of practicing, OG, plus GMAT Pill lessons and getting some tutoring this week. I think if I can get the Q up high enough to where I'm middle 80% overall, I'll be OK since my verbal was high. Here's hoping.

And congratulations on being admitted!

Thanks a lot for the advice - appreciate it! I'll definitely re-take it now. Yeah I need to pull up my quant a little as well to prove I'm capable of keeping up in CBS' classes. I think the fact that they're e-mailing you and asking you for your new score is a good sign. I've heard that they've explicitly asked people to improve their score or, as in your case, suggest a re-take.

My last recommendation went in yesterday so the clock has officially started...

Good luck!

Hey all,

I’m a J-term applicant but thought I’ll share my details considering we’re going through the same admission cycle.

Submitted: 20th Aug (recommendations et all)
Invited to interview: 10th Sept (exactly 3 weeks later)
Took a long time to find an interviewer...most were busy
Interviewed: 3rd October
Interview submitted: 5th October
Admitted: 8th October

I’m quite surprised that I got the acceptance call so soon after my interview feedback was submitted. 5th was a Saturday so I presume they saw the file and made a decision on Monday 7th October and then called me on the 8th because of the time difference (+9.5 hours for India).

Anywhoooo, it feels great. Best of luck to all the applicants and if you need any help - please feel free to reach out!

FWIW I submitted early Sept, but didn't have the rec submitted until 9/18, and got the interview invite last week. I was honestly surprised at how quickly I heard. Adcoms I spoke to said 4-6 weeks from completed app (closer to 4 during ED) is standard, so I wouldn't sweat it yet, guys!
