Olin St.Louis Class of 2018: Calling all Admitted Students!!

I was admitted in R1 as well! I'm late to posting on here.

Anyone decided on joining Olin class of 2018 yet?

So folks, which would you choose between Olin and Kenan-Flagler if you had admits to both? Short term goal consulting.

Yeah submitted my deposit, I am moving to Missouri in late July. Anyone else decided to join?

KF for consulting and if you want to get a job in SE/E region, Olin is better for marketing/sales and jobs in MidWest.

Thanks! Well I knew I wanted to go to the states, so that's basically MIT, Olin and Notre Dame.

I want an MBA, so MIT is out (master in supply chain), and then lastly I would say the scholarships. Olin offers me more - Notre Dame offers me lots too but not as good as Olin. And also, with notre dame I might be competing for jobs with people from Booth next door, but with Olin we are basically the best in the whole state and arguable the top 3 in the mid west, so it came down to these factors.

Need to fill out the DCOF and get my visas now!

Did everyone consider the safety issues in St Louis? Even though many ppl say the university neighbourhood is safe enough, from university website I still see about 7 crime cases per year just in the University City.

I did LOL I was a little sketched out by the crime rate but then something hit me.

So if you want to go to a "good" MBA program, it is almost guaranteed it will be in a big city. Sure St. Louis is known for being sketch, but if you go to NYC, Boston, Chicago, DC area, the crime issues there are not necessarily any better than what people are reporting from St. Louis.

Just my two cents, there is always trade off. And the good thing with St. Louis is that the rent is relatively cheaper, so it will be easier to afford housing in a nicer neighbourhood. Imagine you were going to NYU or Columbia, and the only nice to live in area is probably upper Manhattan, anything else (Brooklyn, Bronx...etc) are probably much worse than St. Louis on average.

Anw I disagree that the crime rates of the places you mentioned (including Brooklyn, Bronx) on average are worse than St Louis'

I got admission offer in Round 1 without any $$. Anyone else in the same situation and considering to join??

Paid my deposits, now just need to send over my transcripts and DCOF (this hurts with this exchange rate)

What are the next steps after those? I checked the Olin 2018 website, and there was nothing under the pre-program course works or anything really lol

Olin had a 40% female students body for its class of 2017. Which was the highest ratio it's had in the past few years. Will be interesting to see what our class looks like.

I was admitted with good $$.
This made me change my mind about applying for some other schools.
But, I'm still waiting for UT/McCombs. I'm waitlisted in Texas... If they call me, I'll be there. If not, Saint Louis it is!!
