parham please tell me the exact questions so that i can answer them clearly

the most mysterious part of the admission is the video essays: can you tell us the questions they asked you?

parham there are 3 video essay question each with max. duration of 1 min. .I think the video essay questions are randomnly asked from a a pool of questions so ideally these may not be same always for all candidates.However out of three asked from me i remember only one question : what is the most amazing challenge you faced personally/professionally and whatyou learnt from it ???

Ch005, I applied around Aug 30 and received the call on Sep 15th from the adcom notifying me, also the following day I was notified via email that the admission letter was available in HEC en Ligne

I am in love with Montreal however I am aware that Toronto is the main market by far. I've monitoring Glassdoor during the last couple of months with some keywords that interest me and for every opportunity in Montreal there are five in Toronto.

I think you would better read Schulich reviews MBA alumni say that big consulting or banking companies no longer come to campus to recruit. HEC, Ivey, and Rotman are among the bests. If we consider tuition in to account then HEC is among the top rational MBA choices. Rotman and Ivey cost about three times more than HEC!!!!!

Hi FrancoBaci, congrats on the admit. Could you please share a bit of your profile?

From what I've heard from current students and alumni, and read online, HEC Montreal is a regional school with its main market in Montreal. Also, French is key to land a job, I'm not saying that without it it's impossible to get a job, however it becomes more complicated. The program has two intakes in April, both Full Time, one taught in French while the other is taught in English. I think that perhaps the employment stats are skewed a little by the French intake which I guess has a stronger network and, given its language proficiency, lands the better jobs. Unfortunately, this is only a guess since stats for each program are not shown apart.

As always I guess that it depends on how much effort you put into the program and your jbo search starts from day one, HEC Montreal says that they have a chapter in Toronto, however it seems that the school has limited recognition outside Quebec as I've been told. Also it depends on your aspirations, for example I expect it to be much tougher to get into McKinsey through HEC Montreal than through Rotman.

Let me know what have you researched about the school and the Montreal market please.

Well, i'm an industrial engineering, with 4 years of experience, mainly in the mining industry. I'm currently the mine production manager of one of the 10 largest copper mines of the world.
GMAT 640, and i speak french and english. Also Spanish since i'm from Chile.

I would like to stay working in Montreal after my MBA, but in case this is not possible, i can always come back to Chile, where HEC Montreal is well known (I work in a daily basis with Mckinsey and they have graduates from HEC Montreal in their local Office).

FrancoBaci i had talk to some of current hec montreal students and they told jobs and networking are very less for hec students. However i have one question is how much scholarship you received and on which date you submitted documents as i have not heard from them till now. Another questiom is how much time they give to accept offer letter

Hi vks0088, give us more detailed information about what you have researched with current students. I have been in contact with current full time students but of the french section of the program and they are extremely happy. That's what I mean when I tell you that perhaps the experience between the French and English cohorts are somewhat different despite following the same program and teachers. It seems that everything comes down to whether you speak french or not.

Also, ALL international students are granted a $7k mobility scholarship, so from the $32k you deduct the $7k. All other scholarships are awarded at the end of the 4th round with an aprox. value of $10k. However these scholarships are merit-based and very limited according to school officials.

fermar84 i think you are correct as I spoke with english cohort so they said no french is strictly a negative and they said networking of hec careers team with companies is also not great.
Can you please tell me how much time hec montreal gives to accept admmission offer to internationals??
