Fastest and Simplest approach without writing any equations (Kudos if you like it):

Looking at the two given conditions, one can quickly notice that one pair of jeans is replaced by a shirt and that has reduced the cost by $3.

This itself tells us that one shirt costs $3 less than a pair of jeans. (No equation writing and solving was required to find this).

Hence, 3 pairs of jeans will cost same as 3 shirts + $9.

So, in the first condition, the 3 pairs of jeans + 2 shirts will cost same as 5 shirts + $9 which is given as $69.

Therefore 5 shirts will cost $60. Each shirt costs $12.

Answer is B.

No equations, no pen and paper, no hassles... just simple and fast.
