A pair of pants and matching shirt cost $52. What is the cost of the shirt alone?

(1) The pants cost $32.95.

(2) The pants cost two and a half times as much as the shirt.

There might be typo in the above question, Because while calculating both the statement gives different values for shirt. Or no. of Pants assumed in the statements are not the same as the question? Please clarify.
