  • The group with no pictures had the highest callback rate for both employers and employment agencies, though this effect was more pronounced for employment agencies
  • This means that the set of three bars on the right (which has the highest callback rate in one of its groups) represents resumes sent to employment agencies. - Dropdown 1
  • Among the groups sent to employment agencies, the group without pictures (Group Z) had a noticeably higher callback rate than other 2

Group A smile
Group B No Smile
Group C No Picture

Destination 1 Agency
Destination 2 Employer

"For both destinations group C had the highest call back" looking at our graph that tells us that Group C is group Z
"Difference between highest callback and next highest call back was greater in the agency" this tells us that of our two groups (16.9-13.9)>(15.9-15.1) and so the three bars on the right are Agency and the three bars on the left are employer
"among two groups of pictures sent to employment agency the smiling pictures had a greater call back rate" so of the bars on right Group X = smile = Group A and Group Y = no smile = Group B

Statement says what do bars on the right represent = agency
and what is group z = no picture

This is a matching/labeling problem where you use text clues to figure out what each part of the graph represents. Let me walk through it step by step.

The graph shows two sets of three bars. Left set: Group X (9.2), Group Y (15.1), Group Z (15.7). Right set: Group X (13.9), Group Y (13.1), Group Z (16.9).

D1: Which set represents employment agencies?

Key clue: 'the difference between the highest callback rate and the next-highest was GREATER for employment agencies.'

Left set: Highest is Group Z at 15.7, next-highest is Group Y at 15.1. Difference = 15.7 - 15.1 = 0.6
Right set: Highest is Group Z at 16.9, next-highest is Group X at 13.9. Difference = 16.9 - 13.9 = 3.0

Since 3.0 is much greater than 0.6, the RIGHT set represents resumes sent to employment agencies.

D2: Which group is the no-picture group?

The clue says: 'For BOTH employers and agencies, the no-picture group had the highest callback rate.'

Left set (employers): Highest = Group Z (15.7)
Right set (agencies): Highest = Group Z (16.9)

Group Z has the highest callback rate in BOTH sets, so Group Z is the no-picture group.

You can double-check with the final clue: 'Among picture resumes sent to agencies, smiling had a slightly higher rate.' In the right set, the two remaining groups are X (13.9) and Y (13.1). Indeed X is slightly higher, meaning Group X = smiling and Group Y = non-smiling. Everything checks out perfectly.

Answer: To employment agencies, No-picture group
