Gave Official mocks 1 today

Question

Hey Guys!
So I gave official GMAT mock 1 today (for the first time) and got Quant (52 %ile and scaled score is 78), DI (39 %ile and scaled score 73) and Verbal (70 %ile and scaled score 81) total 53 %ile and scaled score 555,
(Score file attached below ↓).
Section order (D→DI→brk→V)
My analysis;
Quant-
°timing was an issue here, I need to use different strategies which will save me some time.
°Practice questions on weaker topics like P&C and probability in one question, etc...
DI-
°Got overwhelmed by large data sets, so need to practice skimming.
°MSR and DS especially needs practice coz I found them comparatively hard than other three.
Verbal-
°Verbal overall was good, needs to keep practicing to improve further, didn't found challenge in it like other two.
So, I have analysed based on my understanding, if u can suggest anything, maybe any tweaks, strategy on any of the listed issue, u r more than welcome.

Hi Kaifbinarshad,

That's a pretty good first practice test, especially the V81. The screenshot doesn't really tell us much, so maybe upload the time graphs? Or just check if you faced any time pressure, as a lot of test takers make the mistake of doing only untimed practice. If you did, that's another thing for you to work on.

i did practiced under time conditions and especially just guessing a question and moving on, if i don't have an answer under 2 mins. Also i can't provide the time records as gmac doesn't provide them for official mocks.

You don't have to provide (publicly share) your test records, but that information is available. All you need to do is go to the section tab (like "verbal reasoning") and scroll down to "question performance and time management".

Yeah, now I can see it, thanks.

So I got stuck (questions which took me more than ~3 mins) in 6 questions throughout the test for which i need to practice just flagging it as bookmark and moving onto next one, if I didn't have an answer under 2 mins.

Hi Kaifbinarshad,

Since you are just starting out with your prep here is some advice you can follow regarding how to move forward.

Now that you have a baseline score, adopt a prep strategy consisting of topical learning and practice. In other words, focus on just ONE topic at a time and practice that topic until you achieve mastery.

For instance, let's consider your study of Number Properties. First, immerse yourself in all aspects (formulas, properties, techniques and strategies) of this topic, and then, focus solely on Number Property questions. After each problem set, take the time to delve into your incorrect answers. This self-reflection is a powerful tool that allows you to understand your learning process and make significant improvements. For instance, if you made a mistake in a remainder question, ask yourself why. Was it a careless error? Did you not apply the remainder formula correctly? Was there a concept in the question that you didn't grasp?

By meticulously analyzing your mistakes, you will efficiently address your weaknesses and, consequently, enhance your GMAT quant skills. This process has been unequivocally proven to be effective. Number Properties is just one example; be sure to follow this process for all Quant, Verbal, and DI topics.

Once you have mastered all of the content, you can begin taking official practice tests. With each test, carefully review your results to identify remaining gaps in your content knowledge and work on strengthening those areas until you fully understand them. Then (and only then) take another practice test. Repeat this process until you reach (or exceed!) your goal score.

That's extremely important. That discipline is the only reason I didn't completely mess up  my quant section .

In verbal, of course, you could absolutely end up taking more than 3 minutes on the first question of an RC passage, especially if it's a long passage.
