Hi Gurpreet,

Thanks for the reply, but my question was not regarding the demographic concerns. I want to know how much it can/would affect my application process-whether writing it so late might do harm in my application process since it might indicate the end of R2 deadlines!

my Bad !!

Always give exam when you are prepared and confident.
Same applies to the deadlines. Though people prefer R1>R2>R3, but sending a sound application in later rounds is better than sending a bad application in initial rounds.

The adcoms are concerned about evaluating you as a perfect choice for the school rather than about other irrelevant factors.

Give your best shot to gmat and application.

You should be fine you will be in by round 2, which for most schools is January, the GMAT usually takes 2 weeks to turn around, so send it in to your top 5 schools by indicating them as recipients when you take the exam.
