Hi,
I have a weird problem. When I'm doing practice questions on paper, I seem to do fine and am able to apply all the skills I learned through various prep books (
MGMAT, PowerScore, etc.). However, when I take practice exams under timed conditions using a computer, I seem to lose focus! This is especially true in Verbal, I feel like when I'm reading off a computer screen random thoughts wander into my head, or the words on the screen appear as simply raw, unprocessed words. I don't know whether this is a timing issue, or whether I'm just used to read in concentration while facing my desk, or something else (alternate cause?

). I also seem to be extremely bothered by the smallest noises (my fan in the background), and even those little things make me lose my concentration. When I go over my mistakes, I keep thinking to myself, "What was I thinking? I totally knew that answer, I don't know why I picked [A]!" Then again, that might be a hindsight bias...
I feel like if I am just able to focus for the 75 minutes, I will be able to raise my score by 8-9 points. Does anyone have any suggestions or has anyone experienced something similar?
Thanks!
