Eg:-

I remember the diagnostic test well. I remember it well because, even before looking at any GMAT preparation material, I was able to recognize patterns. I could see the 2/3 split, I could notice the unnecessarily worded SC choices,

As with SC, I found it helpful to take out a whole day just to do CR. It’s just good to see patterns again and again.

There are no shortcuts or quick trick for GMAT.
But unlike SC do we have pattern for other sections as well ?

GMAT Pyramid Goes Like this
Fundamentals (Reading Speed, Quantitative Aptitude) -> GMAT Specific Knowledge (GMAT Strategy Guides) -> Solving Official GMAT Questions and fully understanding them(takes time solving Qs 2,3 times + Re-reading Strategy Guides) -> Pattern Recognition by giving full length tests or drilling questions.
You cannot jump to the last stage first. You need to build gradually.

Thorough analysis of official questions that you got either wrong or correct helps you in identifying patterns that would prove gold in the long run. Now that is the learning we get by solving those official problems and that is why everyone emphasizes their importance.

By official questions I mean, OG13, Gmat prep and Gmat prep question pack 1.

For CR :

We need to focus on at least three kinds of patterns
Why an answer choice is wrong instead of just saying it is out of scope ! Powerscore provide you with solid concepts that deals with characteristics of both wrong and correct answer choice.
Why an answer choice is right
type on reasoning used in the stimulus
