I was just curious if someone could explain to me why the average GMAT score is much lower for most part time programs in comparison to full time programs? I am not too far along in the graduate school process, currently studying for my GMAT, but was just wondering this as I was looking at some of the programs.
Hi Big4Advisory,
The part time programs are usually less competitive than the full time programs; moreover the people opting for part-time courses are limited as the ones who are working nearby will only apply. This also excludes the competitive GMAT scores of the international applicants especially from India and China. As far as the other parameters for an B-School are concerned, in my opinion, they are the same. i.e. the network, faculty, career opportunities, exposure, etc... I feel that if a part-time option is feasible at a top B- School for someone, then one will be immensely benefited by it. One of my managers did his MBA from Stern Part-Time.
Hope that helps,
