Looking for an edge for your grad school application? Ever consider being a mentor and changing a life? Live in the New York Metro area?
Chess-in-the-Schools is a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to improving academic performance and building self-esteem among inner- city public school children. The College Bound program empowers New York City youth to continue their education beyond high school, become productive citizens, and give back to society. We are currently seeking mentors for the upcoming fall 2013-2014 year. You do not need to know how to play the game of Chess.
Time commitment is two hours, two to three times a month from September - January.
