Hi guys -
I'm into the final stretch of my GMAT preparations. I would love to get your thoughts on what you think I should focus on in this final month, given what I've done, where I am currently in my preparations, and my target score. I started this journey in early July, when I took my first
MGMAT class. I've taken some small breaks in between, and as of now, have probably put in 2 - 2.5 months of study time. I have signed up for the test in 30 days.
Target score: 760
What I've done:
-
Manhattan GMAT live classes and have kept up with the weekly homework and readings (9 week class giving an intro to the GMAT exam)
- 4
MGMAT practice exams. Results ranging from the low 600s the first time to 680 on the 4th exam.
- Many of the OG problems (the ones recommended by
MGMAT in their classhandout. I have done all of the weekly homework assignments and the "try harder quant / verbal" questions from the OG; I have not done their "try easier quant / verbal" sections)
How I feel:
I feel generally ok with the format and most question types of the exam. I feel that hte more questions I do the more proficient I become. Thus, a key part of my strategy over the next 4 weeks is to focus on questions and review of those questions.
What I've yet to do:
- Official GMAC practice exams
- GMAC verbal and quant question workbook (300 questions each)
- Other problems outside of
MGMAT's and official GMACs (ie. Jeff Sackman's challenge sets)
Schedule / What I plan to do:
- I intend to do all of the official GMAC verbal and quant workbook questions, so that's 300 questions each. I plan to do about 10 questions a day from each of them to space this out.
- I intend to fit in at least 2 more practice exams, one every other weekend (should I do one official GMAC practice exam and one more
MGMAT exam? Or for the final two exams should I just do the
MGMAT exams)?
- Skim through some other sections of the
MGMAT guides (ie. advanced quant, "extra" SC / Verbal stuff, etc)
I think this is pretty much the extent of the preparations that I can realistically fit in given the timing of the exam. I can generally put in about 1-1.5 hours a day on the weekday, and about 6 hours each weekend day.
What do you guys think of this plan? Would be great to get your expert opinions on if I am approaching this in as cogent and efficient a manner as possible.
Cheers!
