Hi,
I will keep this short:
History:Attempt 1: Nov 2016. 680 (Q50, V30, IR8, AWA6)
Preparation: Joined Manya Abroad (Princeton Review) Chandigarh, did it religiously. 3 months prep, 1 month of testing. They were good, but Institutes lack the ability to really make someone cross 720.
Attempt 2: July 2018. 660 (Q51, V28, IR7) - Rejected
Preparation: Joined an Indian tutor online, mistake at my end as it seemed he was more interested in making his point rather than making me improve. Plus the day of the test started on a wrong note as well, with the test center opening late and everything. Was getting 720, 710 in GMAT Prep.
Attempt 3: Sep 2018. 710 (Q50, V35, IR7, AWA5.5)
Preparation: Bought e-gmat Verbal Online. Because of shortage of time I could only complete the SC course properly (All modules and tests). For CR and RC I could only go through the concept files. Could not practice much on Scholaranium either. Gave GMAT Prep, got 740 and 750.
Scenario:For Verbal, in Attempt 3, I focused completely on accuracy and never looked at the clock. I was consistently making 30 proper attempts in 64 minutes and guessed the remaining 6 in the last one minute. In the first 30 properly attempted questions I was getting 2-4 incorrect answers and therefore a Verbal score of 40. In the actual exam I could only do 26 questions properly, guessed the remaining ones. Got V35.
I need to improve
VERBAL TIMING without having an impact on accuracy. If I try and do all properly (although I haven't tried), I believe my accuracy will go down drastically. Please share your opinions or suggestions. I want to cross the V42 mark. I am planning the attempt anytime when I am ready for it, but no later than Dec 10. I have e-GMAT subscription till Feb, I don't plan to invest anything more than $100 on the GMAT Prep (will avoid actually).
Thanks in advance.
