With 1 month left, we encourage you to check out the GMAT Pill 1 month program.

https://www.gmatpill.com/gmat-practice-t ... study-plan

We also recommend a "Divide and Conquer" approach first.

That is - focus on specific sections - like Sentence Correction. Dedicate an entire day - heck, dedicate multiple consecutive days dedicated ONLY to sentence correction.

For example: tomorrow is "Sentence Correction Day" - and don't move on until you feel you've made a significant improvement and have results to show.

If you operate with that kind of work ethic - and apply that process to RC, RC, PS, DS, etc. -- then you will have individually made good progress in each section.

Then from there, it's about mixing and matching different verbal and quant questions - just as you would see them on the actual test. So take practice tests to simulate this mental switch between different question types under time pressure.

For practice, we recommend the practice tests from mba.com as was from supplemental resources such as this one from GMAT Pill:

Hi Arturo,

Before you enroll in another Course (right after just finishing one), some analysis of your work would be a good idea. It's possible that you don't need another 12 weeks of classes to hit your Score Goal.

"Review" is an exceptionally important part of the GMAT training process; your ability to define WHY you're getting questions wrong is essential to defining the areas that you need to work on (and the specific things that you need to 'fix'). As such, I'd like to know a bit more about your last CAT. While a full Mistake Tracker would provide a lot more information, there are some basic questions that you should be able to answer (and the more EXACT you can be with your answers, the better):

After reviewing each section of this recent CAT, how many questions did you get wrong....
1) Because of a silly/little mistake?
2) Because there was some math/verbal that you just could not remember how to do?
3) Because the question was too hard?
4) Because you were low on time and had to guess?
5) How many Verbal questions did you 'narrow down to 2 choices' but still get wrong?

In addition, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

1) Was this the ONLY CAT that you've taken so far? How have you scored on EACH of your CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
2) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
3) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
4) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

Hi Everyone,

I just finished week 10 of the Magoosh GMAT Advaced study program and took the first exam in the Kaplan program. I scored a 580 ( Q36 V 33). To be honest I'm a little disappointed with the score in the Verbal section as i thought i would do better. So far i was building the pillars on all the topics covered by the Gmat. I did not take the LSAT exams suggested in the study program nor did i purchase the OG verbal book because i felt it was waste of money to buy more books from the ones i had, instead i focused in trying to understand the concepts the video lessons Magoosh offered. Maybe i should have bought the books. My aim is to get to the 700 score, I know i can do it with great effort, but it is no problem as i'm ready to put in the work.

Overall i feel more comfortable now with the material and i think it is time to start the real exponential improvement. I plan to finish the Magoosh 12 week program and i would like to take an extra 1 month intensive preparation. What prep program do you guys suggest for the last 1 month preparation i intend to do?

Sincerely,

Arturo
Why do you want another program? If you're looking to improve from a Q36, it is extremely unlikely that a different program will expose you to any additional concepts. It could have a different approach, and if you feel that another approach is what you need, go ahead. However, I think what you really need to do is to work on the basics, and you could do that even without doing material made specifically for the GMAT exam.

If you are looking for more practice material, official material remains a (really) good option. Finally, if you want to check whether the score you got is representative, take a GMATPrep.
