CLESpower
Hello everyone!
I've been a lurker of the forum for the longest time, but only recently I've decided to join in. I'm currently enrolled in an MSc in Europe, but since I did the BSc in the same University I never had to take the GMAT. After I finished my first semester exams a bit earlier than expected, I have a month to spare and figured I'd try to prepare for the GMAT (since I think I'l apply to an MBA in the 5-year validity timeframe of the test).
Yesterday evening I tried a test on official GMATprep software and I scored a 690 but I think with proper preparation I'l achieve definitely more (I didn't remember all of the geometry formulas and neither I did really concentrate on some of the questions since it was a bit late in the evening).
Do you have any recommendation on how to score the highest possible score with a one-month preparation time? I'm aiming for a 730+ but of course I know that it will be difficult and I'm willing to put a lot of effort in it (and maybe continue studying also after the lessons start again). (A friend of mine already lent me
Manhattan Prep and the three OG 2018, so I can use those two if needed).
Thanks in advance!
Hi Zaidf123,
Welcome to GMATCLUB! 690 is a great start. With one month of dedicated practice you are sure to achieve your goal. For Quant, you can try out the TTP course as it is phenomenal and covers the entire syllabus really well. Plus it has great reviews on GMATCLUB. I must add that if you are particularly looking to discover and improve on your weak areas in Quant; a subscription to
GMATCLUB tests is the best way to do that. They are indeed phenomenal and will not only pinpoint your weak areas but also help you improve on them.
For verbal, I would highly encourage you to consider e-gmat verbal online or the e-gmat verbal live course. They are both amazing courses especially designed for non-natives. They offer almost 25% of their courses for free so you can try out their free trial to decide which one you want to go for. Plus the e-gmat Scholaranium which is included in both the courses is one of the best verbal practice tools in the market. You can easily track your progress in that you can identify your strengths and analyze and improve on your weak areas.
Further taking multiple mocks might help. Apart from the GMATPREP,
Manhattan GMAT tests and Veritas Prep Tests in my experience have good verbal and Quant section and will certainly help you point out and improve your weak areas.
Further another advantage of taking many mocks is to build up your stamina. Apart from the GMATPREP tests, taking practise tests of any major GMATPREP company ought to do that.
I would also encourage you to purchase the GMATPREP QP 1 for some great additional practice.
Hope this helps. All the best.
Thank you so much for your suggestions! I will definitely consider purchasing TTP for quant and checking out e-gmat for verbal. What do you think about empowergmat?
