Welcome to GMAT Club (congrats on your first post) and sorry to hear about the stress.
1. I would say that everyone is stressed the night before they take the test. I slept terrible and had to take the test at 8 AM in the morning or something like that. Now that you can take the test at any time, some people have been scheduling it late morning or early afternoon to make sure they sleep in and get a good rest.
2. Your second test result was not that much worse than the first. You didn’t do as well in quant and verbal but you improved data insights. It’s not that uncommon to underperform on a retake especially in the sections that you were thinking you were strong.
3. But if stress is your main problem, there are ways to train yourself. Warming up before the test and spending 15 or 20 minutes June question after question put you into this conveyor type of mentality where all you do is just answer question after question. I highly recommend warming up before the test, so that you don’t have to think and you just keep going.
There are always ways to increase the stress during your practice tests bye penalizing yourself somehow such as depriving phone use for a week if you mess up or you can always live stream your test to friends 😇 so that adds some additional pressure.
I would also make sure that other things are not playing a big role impacting your score as well such as time miss management, a lot of people try to solve every single question on the real test and won’t budge until they do, taking those questions with them to the grave basically. You definitely want to avoid that.
