Let me try to explain my logic.
So this is a Causal Relationship CR question.
Here,
World War II had a profound effect on the growth of nascent businesses.-- THIS IS THE CONCLUSION.
SO ......WW2 ------> Growth on Nascent Businesses
The Acme Packaging Company netted only $10,000 in the year before the war. By 1948, it was earning almost 10 times that figure.-- THIS part is just giving support to the above Conclusion that WW2 lead to the growth in Acme Packaging company which represents Nascent Business. ( I dont know what Nascent means

So I am looking for an answer choice which says that ... Hello !!! My dear child .... there were/was no other circumstance/s which lead to increase in Revenue.
....WW2 was the reason for increase in revenue of ACP.
Lets look at CHOICE E.

Author states “World War II had a profound effect on the growth of nascent businesses”, which seems to be a generic or typical representation of how the war in general affected nascent businesses and Acme being AN example here.
Option A justifies that reasoning by stating Acme's growth rate is a typical representation of that of other nascent businesses.
