In the figure, OR and PR are radii of circles. The length of OP is 4. If OR = 2, what is PR? PR is tangent to the circle with center O.

A) 2
B) 5/2
C) 3
D) 2\(\sqrt{3}\)
E) 3\(\sqrt{2}\)

Please explain in detail your answer so that we call all follow it.

If PR is tangent to the circle O then it must form 90 deg(angle ORP) along with radius PR and hence triangle ORP is right triangle
as 2 sides of triangle is known we can find the third side as 4^2-2^2=16-4=12=r^2
= 2\(\sqrt{3}\)
