Another approach:

The key word is MUST.
So, if we can find an example where the expression evaluates to be an integer, we can ELIMINATE that answer choice.

A) xy: (1)(1) = 1 and 1 is an integer. ELIMINATE
B. x/y: 1/1 = 1 and 1 is an integer. ELIMINATE
C. y/x: 1/1 = 1 and 1 is an integer. ELIMINATE
D. xy/2
E. -xy: -(1)(1) = -1 and -1 is an integer. ELIMINATE

By the process of elimination, the correct answer is

D. As Odd divided by 2 will always be a non-integer. You can substitute xy for numbers and try

Here x and y are both odd
hence xy will be odd too
so xy/2 can never be an integer

We're told that X and Y are ODD integers. We're asked which of the following will always be a NON-INTEGER. This question can be solved by TESTing VALUES.

IF... X=3 and Y=3
Answer A: 9
Answer B: 1
Answer C: 1
Answer D: 9/2
Answer E: -9
