For simplicity I will consider the amount earned by Nancy, Janet and Kate as N,J and K.

We are given

N=2J
K=3J
K=$45000

Plugging in the value of K in the second equation we get

J=$15000

Using this value in equation 1 we get

N=$30000

Average =(N+K+J)/3
=(90000)/3
=$30000

Alternate approach: No need to calculate individual earnings. Using the info I know that the amount for N, J and K is 2x, x, and 3x. I am given earning for K, i.e. 3x = 45000.
Avg = sum/ # = 6x/3 = 2*45000/3 = 30000
