    • From the given options, which one is not necessarily true

Approach and Working out
Let us assume R = 5a and S = 5b, where a and b are integers

Checking each option individually:
    • \(R – S = 5a – 5b = 5 (a – b)\), which is always divisible by 5
    • \(RS = 5a * 5b = 25ab\), which is always divisible by 25
    • \(R + S = 5a + 5b = 5 (a + b)\), which is always divisible by 5
    • \(R^2 + S^2 = 25a^2 + 25b^2 = 5 (5a^2 + 5b^2)\), which is always divisible by 5
    • \(R + S = 5a + 5b = 5 (a + B)\), which is divisible by 10 only when a + b is even, otherwise not

Thus, option E is the correct answer.

A number is divisible by 5 if the unit digit is either '0' or '5'.

Squaring a number ending with '0' or '5' returns '0' and '5' respectively.

R and S are divisible by 5, so they can be (10, 20) or (15, 25) or ( 10,25) or any other set.

From option A till D, all will satisfy. But for option E: 10 + 25 = 35 is not divisible by 10.
