In a leap year that begins on a Tuesday, what is the number of Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays?
(A) 155
(B) 156
(C) 157
(D) 158
(E) 159
In a leap year there are 366 days which when divided by 7 leaves a remainder of 2.
As we know that in a normal year only one day occurs 53 times so in a leap year there are two days that occur 53 times.
And those two days are the first two days of that year - here in this case Tuesday and Wednesday. Rest would be 52 times.
Also, M,T and W occur at least 52 times so any choice 156(52+52+52) or less are eliminated. A and B are gone.
Now that two days repeat 53 times in a year the days for T and W are 53 and for m it is 52.
Hence total for M,T and W is 53+53+52 = 158(or 156+2)
