In 2005, The average age of 100 employees is 30 yrs. so, each of the 100 employees holds a value of 30.
In 2007. That’s 2 yrs from 2005. 2 yrs is added to each of the 100 employees. So, the new average in 2007 is 32.
Now, 20 employees each age average of 60 leave. Actual average is 32. But, they take 60 with them while leaving.
So, each carry 60-32 = 28 extra with them.
How many 28s have left the group = 28*20 = 560.
This extra taken has an impact on the remaining 80. And, each of the 80 have to share the burden of loss.
So, (28*20)/80 = 7 is decreased from each of the 80 members.
Previous average of 80 members = 32.
New average of 80 members = 32-7 = 25.
Now, there are no additions or changes in the group for the
next three years.
Thus, the average at 2010 = New average of 2007 +
3 yrs. = 25+3 =
