Is the product of 3p and 4 greater than 20?

Is \(3p*4>20\)? --> is \(p>\frac{5}{3}\)?

(1) 5p > 7 --> \(p>\frac{7}{5}=\frac{21}{15}\). The question asks whether \(p>\frac{5}{3}=\frac{25}{15}\)? Thus this statement is not sufficient.

(2) 3p − 5 > 1 --> \(p>2\). Thus \(p>\frac{5}{3}=1.something\). Sufficient.

Answer: B.

P.S. Please read carefully and follow: rules-for-posting-please-read-this-before-posting-133935.html Pay attention to the rule #3: the name of a topic MUST be the first 40 characters (~the first two sentences) of the question. Than k you!

Reform question: 3p * 4 > 20? --> 3p > 5 ? --> p > 5/3(25/15)?

(1) 5p > 7 --> p > 7/5 --> p > 21/15 IS. Could be 27/15 or 22/15
(2) 3p-5>1 --> 3p>6 p>2 --> p > 5/3 SUFF.

B.
