Let me ask you a question: do you know the distance between Q and R?


If both statements are taken together, Q is between P and R and distance between P and Q is 5. Therefore distance between P and Q should be equal to Q and R right?

No. Between does not mean halfway between.

St1 :- It only tells about position of Q but not provide any specific values hence insufficient.

St2 :- It tells only distance between P and Q but no info between Q and R hence insufficient.

St1 + st2 :-
We still don't know distance between Q and R. Insufficient. Hence E.

The wording of statement (1) "Q is between P and R" is a little bit of a trap!
