(1) X = 16*Y + 5, where Y is a positive number.
X = even + odd = odd ; y can take only positive integer: any integer multiplied by 16( even number) will always be even
hence {1} is sufficient
(2) X = Z/5, where Z is a positive number.
X = 5/5 = 1 ODD
X = 10/5 = 2 EVEN
hence {2} is not sufficient
Answer = A
(1) X = 16*Y + 5, where Y is a positive number.

1. \(Y\) is a positive number and \(X = 16*Y + 5\)
If Y = 1, X = 5+16 = 21(which is odd)
If Y = \(\frac{1}{16}\), X = 1+5 = 6(which is even) (Insufficient)
2. \(Z\) is a positive number and \(X = \frac{Z}{5}\)
If Z = 5, X = 1(which is odd)
If Z = 10, X = 2(which is even) (Insufficient)
On combining the information in both the statements,
as per explanation given for the individual statements,
X can be either EVEN or ODD (Insufficient - Option E)
