Statement 1 -
AB = 12...
Values of A can be 1,2,3,4,6,12
not sufficient..
Statement 2 -
A = 36/3B
A = 12/B
AB = 12.. Same as statement 1.. not sufficient..
Combining both statements won't help because both statements give the same equation.
Option E is the right answer.

there is no clue about A or B
It can be an integer : multiples of 12 (1,2,3,4,6,12)
It can be negative if B is negative (we can only know that A & B has the same signs either both positive or negative): (-1,-2,...)
It can be fraction: for example, A can be \(\frac{1}{17}\) if B = \(\frac{12}{17}\)
we should think beyond the pure algebra,
and ask : what information we get from the statement?
Information from statement 1 :
A*B = 12 ,
A & B are not equal to zero
A & B has the same sign (which we don't know what it is exactly)
information from statement 2:
the same as (1), nothing new.
